I played Hearthstone since beta every single day like a maniac for years all the way until Kobolds and Catacombs, then stopped and came back for a more casual play during Galakrond's, but stopped for real with Ashes of Outland... I just wanted to say this video made me feel old af! I aged those 9 years of Hearthstone history in the first 5 minutes of the video, hahaha.

Fun fact on charge(the spell) and why would be broken in standard: If you use it on remornia you can hit face with the minion, face with the weapon and face with the minion again. And repeat until the weapon breakes.(That was a deck in wild, not a strong one, but viable.)

I remember during Un'goro using x2 Bloodsail Corsair in my Shaman Evolve/Devolve's deck. Was useful to remove weapons and mainly bring Patches in the board. 1 Mana for 2 drops for your evolve, a charge for bloodlust...

I mean yeah there were two years where Bloodsair Corsair was just the best one drop in the game (1/2 + 1/1 with charge) just like Southsea Captain was the best 3 drop.

42:32 the problem with polymorph is that mages have life sentence which completely removes the minion without leaving up a 1/1 body. I think discover might be the right tier but currently in standard there is just an objectively better card.

The only real benefit for it now is to ruin revive pools. BUT there's an argument that Life Sentence might still be better for that, or at least almost as good for that, by removing the minion they want to revive anyway.

@@velrex8140 if we wanna be really nice to polymorph, its better at graveyard hate cause it both removes the reanimator target *and* puts the 1/1 into the GY. So even if they get another target, the sheep token still makes the reanimation iffy

I remember old unleash, you always had it in mind against hunter, because if you overextended they knife juggler unleash cleared your board and delt damage to you, i played a lot of midrange shaman in naxx and i remember not using hero power because it just fueled unlessh

If mage gets enough easy face damage then burn mage becomes a deck, if priest gets enough healing and clears then control priest becomes viable. You can't hold anything equal when you add a card into the set, you have to make the set, then test.

2:40 we even have the freeze and silence minion thats 2 mana 2/3 but that has manathirst 6 for the silence effect and thats not seeing in deck play but e.t.c quite a few times

In my opinon, any of the cards with charge would see play in all aggro decks since it's such a limited keyword plus buffs aren't as hard to come by as they used to.

@@ich3730 Yeah, but Wild ain’t vintage. It’s much closet to legacy or modern, but even that comparsment is kinda wrong. It’s not that far away from standart, especially with hearthstone’s power creep. Like, most of the good cards are from recent sets anyway. Wild oftentimes plays with just bettered standard decks. The Fact what Death Knight was a playable (and is kinda playable) class in a metagame, kinda proves that.

A thing worth mentioning about comparing Wild to Vintage or Legacy is the fact that, comparatively, Basic and Classic are just... not that powerful next to Alpha/Beta/Unlimited. Like yeah, most of the cards are shit, but those that are playable are BONKERS in the case of A/B/U whereas Classic and Basic... You have, like, 10 at most? And even then, I don't feel like the jump from the rest of the set is as big as in the case of A/B/U.

I haven't played HS in a years but it makes me kinda sad to see that a lot of the staple cards that I associate with each class are not even considered decent options anymore. I guess it's because it makes apparent the disconnect between myself and a game I used to love.

Lots of the low ranked cards you have, see play in top wild meta decks and some of your top cards don't see any play at all. Generally a good list, the pirates and murlocs you have ranked as niche see play in every wild format though

I don’t see actioneer being broken and I don’t see Alex and Knife Juggler seing play. I also feel like Grom would se play in enrage warrior (like it saw), and that’s not that niche. Being in only one deck, but that deck being tier 1 at some point is not that niche.

High mane is a low roll when you get it as a 6 off spurfang. It's crazy as mukla and hound are way better. Also keepers strength is basically shadow flame and is nuts in paladin

If your statement is "Velen is one of those cards that would become better with more cards released" and he hasn't seen play in Wild in many years. Then you have your answer. Even if Discovered there's no way you'd play him. Velen is Garbage Fire, 100%, no sweat. This entire video feels like Rarran just snorted a couple of lines of energy drinks and then started recording after having been awake for 3 days straight, his takes are absurdly bad. And while I think they are bad, I think it's very entertaining, so either way, great content.

inner fire would 1000% see play in standard if all the other classic cards were with it. It was my favorite deck when I used to play, doom slayer 0 mana silence double its health twice and inner fire, + whatever else you happened to have since that's only 7 mana and there's the radiant elemental.

@@sallomon2357 It used to be the hunter's ultimate hex/silence check. If I slammed Highmane and you didn't have the answer it was going to be a rough time for you as my opponent. Highmane singlehandedly kept hunter as a B tier class when it was at it's worst. When hunter was good, Highmane was absolutely disgusting. Now it garbage and isn't an auto include? Power creep has been crazy after I stopped playing. This is from someone who played from beta through to ~Witchwood. I only dabbled in it a little as well as the preceding expansion. The game changed too much for me at that point.

53:05 I don’t feel like Alextraza would actually see play. The main problem would be that healing is far more common and damage is far greater. A lot of decks can kill from like 24 health and don’t really need to set the opponent to 15, and at the same time a lot of decks can easily heal up after going down to 15. Paying 9 mana fore something most decks don’t care about I just feel wouldn’t see play.

In which case the only situation that would actually be useful is most likely when a 9 mana 8/8 is the best option because the battlecry is fairly useless in highlander Druid. Druid doesn’t have enough burst to kill at 15 and chances are if you spend 9 mana to set you life total to 15 most decks can beat you the very next turn.

@@ruukinen I rewatched the video, and he wasn't clear (as rarran always goes off the rails and always goes into a train wreck) whether it was the original effect from the first hearthstone or a standard card. I just assume the later, if it was the former then I agree with you 100%.

Sword of Justice would have utility on discovery. Hunter's Mark wouldn't see play as it takes a deck space and the effect isn't worth it. Blizzard is too expensive for what it does. It's funny seeing how power dumped formerly incredible cards are, like Faerie Dragon and Highmane.

Wtf, is the powercreep. Havent played hearthstone in years, stumbled in here. Highmane as trash tier is so insane to me. It was considered the best 6 drop (before they nerfed sylvanas to 6). Waraxe was in EVERY warrior deck. It was nerfed to 3 mana and still saw play. Fireball not being played is absolutely insane. It was the mage card. No mage deck without it. Azur drake was put into hall of fame because it saw so much play in different decks

Hear me out, old brewmaster is as good if not better than new brewmaster in decks like the Snake Warlock or use with Astalor. You never are wanting to leave your snake out on the board and so the 3/2 statline is marginally more applicable than the +2/+2 on the snake. (Altho in stuff like charge combos then the new one is better)

with 10 mana and 3 cards - solar eclipse + force or nature + cultivation is 24 damage from hand (without playing any treants prior to the combo). So I think it will 100% see play in the format.

Any charge card would see play because of all the handbuffs that exist across different classes now. There would 100% be an aggro bloodknight in the meta if there were other neutral charge minions other than Freebird.

Have you played any standard at all? I constantly run into these cards at ranks 1-5(before legend). Sure a lot of people have some pretty funky cards in their decks but being at rank 2 for example means you have a positive win rate (unless you are currently in the process of tanking yourself down to 5). Cards talked about are like blizzard and far sight etc.
