Hairtrigger83 You're right. I do think Norm is fantastic when he can meander towards his point on his own terms. I think he's terrible with other people, he doesn't play well with others at all. If he does inadvertently set them up, he makes sure to cut them down. But either way he makes sure that it's all about him. It really makes me wonder why he bothers appearing on shows or whatnot with other people at all. It's clearly not enjoyable for him. It's like getting invited to a dinner party you didn't want to go to, agreeing anyway, pissing on the roast and then blaming everyone else for not liking it. Lee Mack is the exact opposite. He's at his best when he has people to riff off, and he is the quickest comic I've ever seen. He's as intuitive as Norm and will absolutely make jokes at others' expense, but it's more of a friendly jab instead of an irritated haymaker. If those people come back with something better he's more than happy to laugh and give them credit and laugh along with everyone else. Norm just gets surly. Two different comedic styles so it's weird to compare them.

'Lee, would you stop designing hutches for stick-insects!' 'What's the collective term for lots of stick-insects?' The outtake at the end makes the episode it is from even funnier that they knew Lee was lying but still played along with it. Also of all the lies Lee has been given being trapped in the back of a van is properly the easiest one he has ever had to tell and he messes it up.

Sometimes, if it's an unknown number, I would pick up in silence... and wait to see if I recognize the voice or not. So it's not impossible. They usually sound confused, and then if I know them, I'll just blame the signal and pretended I've been saying hello all this time.

I do something more involved than Dermot. I call it, “First in first out.” It’s fairly simple. Newly cleaned dishes go to the bottom of the stack, etc. It ensures that they don’t gather dust, for dishes etc. Canned food has an expiration date, so I stock the shelf from the back.
