Minato is a sweet Tsundere (sweet with everyone but he can be harsh towards Shin when he's embarrassed)

Minato doesnt deserve Shin. Minato's character is unbearinglly immature to the point of being unwatchable. Why is it necessary to have both older characters socially flawed and iept.

I don't think it's that he doesn't deserve him, he's just still way too reserved and acting like a virtuous maiden from the 1800's, considering they've been dating for quite a bit

And that's the exact reason I gave up on watching show. Minato freaks out if Shin even tries to hold his hand and throughout the 1st season the push&pull just became exhausting. Shin has the patience of a saint... and I don't. 😂😂

@@britneys.1445 Oh, you hit the nail on the head. I, too, bailed in S1 for those reasons. Being shy myself, I could understand Minato's behavior in the beginning of S1 - he thought he was in love with his senior, Shin was straight forward and spoke his mind and his heart and Minato wasn't used to anyone being that direct, and he was hung up on the age difference - always referring to himself as an adult compared to Shin still being a high school student. But by the time Shin was considering going to a university far away and Minato couldn't even talk to him about staying local, and continued doing all the taking while Shin did all the giving, I no longer saw Minato as the 'adult': his childish behavior and overly dramatic freak-outs every time Shin said something romantic or flirted with him began grating on my nerves. He boasted that he was the adult but Shin acted more like an adult than Minato ever did. But even here in this clip, they live together but don't share a bedroom, let alone a bed after how many years of being together? Shin deserves a partner who can love him as deeply as he loves and doesn't act like a horrified 3-year-old when shown affection. This whole see-saw thing wore me out.

I think Minato is very reasonable... He is teaching kids the same age and school, and as a coach, you should think of them as a potential partner. Yes, he doesn't teach Shin and they met under other circumstances, but that doesn't really make it easier for him... He thinks Shin is hot, the first time he sees him and before he realised that he's about 8 or 9 years younger than him. He does know how important the next years will be in Shins life and that a relationship won't make this easier. At the same has to clear things up in his own life to be able to start a relationship and actually make it work. He doesn't do the most things for himself but for Shin... he is just much younger and doesn't think about all this stuff yet...

That’s a little too harsh. Given minato was almost 10 years older he must have had so many reservations, including how shin has so many years where he could grow up and fall in love differently. Shin was young and passionate and very impulsive but minato had to be very careful with his decisions. Of course the character was written a little frustrating on how long he took to clear things and how he never really calms down but calling him undeserving of shin’s love is too much
