Does Burna and his management (mother) look like people that a record label can short change?? There is no need for an artiste to be fearful of record labels if you truly know your craft and ability! Sarkodie and his fans are merely making excuses, Sarkodie's brand isn't appetising enough for global audiences for anyone to want to invest in him, and that is the long and short of the matter! When Blacko and Snap issues came up I supported Blacko from day one cus I knew he was doing the right thing for himself when he signed that distribution deal with empire, and that is all Blacko has with empire a distribution deal. *Talent* my brother, talent is the very important thing here. If the said individual is really talented, yes he could have been bigger. But the 'talent' of that individual is very basic really, you know, just Ghana level, I mean just Ghana. The basic 'talent' that this individual we are talking about possesses is not the sort of talent that could make anyone bigger on the scale you imagined. It's more like pseudo-talent really, you know the type of 'talent' that is not capable of doing anything original/unique interesting enough to attract that big record label, no way near at all my friend. It's basically a 'talent' cosplaying American hip-hop/rap artistes. You know, more like a tribute act to those American rappers. So yeah, that's the crux of the matter.

Why are we comparing a singer to a rapper to begin with? If rappers could blow like burna etc nigeria would have aligned rappers to take over long time ago. Have we asked ourselves why they are not doing it? Because it is hard for rappers to penetrate. Anyone can dance to burna without understanding the lyrics because it's a melody dance feeling song. But with a rapper, and especially African, u want to hear and understand the bars etc. So why would the world ignore Kendrick? Jayz drake etc and come listen to sarkodie etc? They already have the rappers. What they do not have is afrobeats that's why afrobeatz artist are crossing over. So this whole comparison with sarkodie doesn't make any sense. If anything it should be the shatta, stone, king promise, kidi, camido gyakie etc

Personally i think Sark is doing well even as an independent Artist. Being relevant more than a decade in the industry is no child's play. It's liky Sark would have been much bigger than Burna but then would have been just relevant for the first 5 years and afterwards he wouldn't have been that relevant. Like the likes of Wiz Khalifs, T-Pain, Soulja boy, Bow wow...few to mention. Michael Jackson even warned the Public about Record Labels. We all know how it went between him & Sony

Fact is he remains the most decorated rapper in africa. Until any rapper is able to dethrone him, it is what it is. Our singers are not successful because we don't have the system in place to properly market them. Look, when it comes to talent, ghana has a lot of talent. The genre itself began from here. It's our system and the lack of finance that has crippled our industry and our ability to crossover.
