When Richard Woolsey first appeared on Stargate SG-1, I thought I didn't like him. However, it soon became apparent to me that even though he was misguided by Vice President Kinsey (Ronny Cox, I loved hating his character in the series), he was a seeker of truth and in the end he became the champion of it. For that, I had (still have because I keep re-watching the Stargate Franchise every year without fail - long story!!!) a tremendous amount of admiration and respect for him, which grew even more when he moved to the Pegasus Galaxy. Finally I have a tremendous amount of admiration and respect for Mr. Picardo who gave life to Mr. Woolsey. My hat is off and in the air LOL

He's played some great roles as the kind of guy you always seem to warm to in the end. He was able to carry this off both in Voyager and Atlantis. Great actor !

What a great video David!! I absolutely love love love Robert Picardo's roles on Voyager and also on SG:A and it's just devastating that we didn't get some kind of follow-on movie (or SOMEthing) to carry-forward the SG:A story after they just plunked down Atlantis outside the Golden Gate in the ocean right out there. Robert is really candid and so excellent in this interview, and it's just so great seeing him again. Thanks so much for your great work, I sure do like seeing ALL the great vids you're making for all of us to see here on YT!! Keep up the great work David!! Excellent!!

I would love Robert Picardo to make a return appearance in Picard. It would be really interesting to find out what life as a hologram was like during a synth ban. I'd also love to see a Seven/Doc reunion. As for the ageing, that's easily solved: The Doc updated his physical parameters so that he could appear to age naturally along with his friends.
@tarb13203 жыл бұрын
This would be fantastic in theory but I have no faith in the people currently in charge of Star Trek to do this at all, the first season of Picard was beyond terrible.
@Bastion903 жыл бұрын
@@tarb1320 While the show did have a number of problems with it, overall I enjoyed it. I think one of the main issues I had is that they had a lot of different story threads and plot lines, but nowhere near enough episodes to cover them all in satisfactory detail. It seems so stupid that at a time when they decide to move Star Trek away from episodic television into a serialised show that they cut the number of episodes by more than half. I loved it when shows had 20+ episodes a season.

I would not, Picard has been an unmitigated disaster of a show, and as few SR actors and characters that get ruined by it, the better.

I've always wondered how actors feel when they are invited to a guest star in a TV series for an episode, where the part isn't originally written as an ongoing character, then they are called back several more times for the same character, especially when the part blooms into a standard character.
@Matej_Sojka3 жыл бұрын
I wonder why these actors are never asked about the dislike fans of original shows have towards garbage like Picard after they go on a tangent how great it would be to be a part of it and how so much history was added to the characters IN THE SHOW THAT SPECIFICALLY AND INTENTIONALLY DESTROYS THOSE CHARACTERS as by the show runners and star actors own admissions.

The best thing they did with Woolsey was done in the first episode of Atlantis he appeared in as head of the expedition. He learns that operating in the field bears little resemblance to the rules crafted by the IOA.
Robert did such an amazing job with both characters. I loved the Doctor from start to finish. But Woolsey... the good in him had to be pushed out. He did wrong things for right reasons. He really did think he was acting in the best interest of the Stargate program. I was excited to see him show so much of himself because Woolsey is one of those characters that has to grow on you, but not until he's started being honest with himself about what he's doing. And that's a journey in and of itself - I'd argue that Woolsey had multiple barriers to becoming his Enlightened version of himself. :)

I have a question. I was reading about where Atlantis was going to go if it had continued. I noticed Keller wasn't listed as projected cast, and it said the end of one relationship and the beginning of another. So clearly, Rodney and Keller were going to the chopping block. (Which I have mixed feelings about. I hated them being together but since you did it, it bothers me to end it, especially when you establish a really deep, mutual love. But who is the new relationship? As I searched the possibilities of the projected cast, unless you were gonna kill Kanan, the only possibility was Sam and Rodney. Which, I think would be a fantastic vindication for Rodney, since he has proven himself. Still, the heteronormativity is barfy. I remember when season 5 was airing I could have sworn that Kelly was a lesbian and I even thought she had a lover that was one of the chicks on the team from the Halloween episode with the girl from the cube. Also I really think Weir needed to return. I feel like they didn't really properly honor her character. She was the crossover from SG1 AND she led the entire expedition, but she got 2nd billing to the Kirk, which I always found so pathetic. Is scifi truly controlled by insecure male viewers to the point where a woman can't lead the show? And what about Woolsey? Maybe he could sing opera while Lorne paints and together they could find a little slice of sophisticated gay heaven in the pegasus Galaxy. Btw There's something Ive been dying to know. From studying history and indigenous peoples, we know that hetero coupling only exists in societies where that has been forced by rulers, so why is every damn village hetero? I mean just once can a planet be like Well, when we want to create a life, we all take part in a ritual that binds us in the raising of the child, but outside that, we all have our same sex mates? Lol Or how about people who pretty much do the village when you reach sexual maturity and find American consciousness silly? You know Mix it up. Remind people that everything we believe is only normal because we're all raised by the little boxes in our living rooms. And since season 5 redeemed woolsey to the team, was he going to have problems with the IOA? Oh gawd I hope you didn't mean Ronan and that extra that you suddenly threw on the balcony in that final episode. Ronan soooo shouldn't have been straight. It blows my mind that people can't see what I see when I look at Jason Momoa. I don't even think he's a top. Funny, I remember picardo from china beach so it's funny he's a big deal in scifi now. 2 franchises will do it!

You know what, maybe the multiple realities thing they talk about on TikTok is true BECAUSE I REMEMBER Keller being a lesbian with the chick from John's team and there was a thing where they were fooling around in secret but she made a pass at Keller in front of everyone and Keller got nervous. I SWEAR I SAW THAT. But I also swear that the lyrics to the Asia song were "I miss the rains down in Africa" it was a song about taking the time to do the things you've never experienced. Like African rain. Now the lyrics are "I bless the rains down in Africa" and it ruins the entire song. First of all it makes no sense. Second it's arrogant. Like who are u to bless anything? Are u a priest? And... When the gogos Talk Show album came out, several songs were significantly longer than they are now. I was a child math genius and I was obsessed with song lengths and I distinctly remember. Yes or No was 4;08 you thought was 4:24 forget that day was 4:35. Now they're 4:00, 4:12, and 4:25. Why are they different? Lol Wouldn't it be a trip if that was all really true? So then what we consider imagination isn't imagination, it's our minds tuning into and receiving play by plays from other realities. So Stargate Atlantis COULD BE REAL!!!! Thank you
