The wife over here abandoned our kids and me. She had an affair with an alcoholic with medical issues. Reality hit her hard and she tried coming back two months later. I said No. I got the divorce done as quickly as possible. I got custody of our children. Her hatefulness went 10x. Everything was my fault including her unhappiness. I am still relieved she is gone and someone’s else’s problem.

My aunt is a divorce lawyer and she says - "To all men if you truly know inside that you're not her #1 or #2 choice don't ever marry her...if you settle to be plan B or C she will never love you and she'll start planning the divorce while pregnant."

Why would anyone make such commitment just to be number 2? Do you want a company of #2's? Let me let you in on a little secret. Just plainly tell the truth and what your intentions are and they better be genuine or else you'll get watered down results. Does that make sense? Waste less time Money and recorcess trying to take short cuts and imagine what your return would be if it's not genuine like with a kiss, I can feel if your not real in your kiss. That's why some people avoid kissing.

Karyn, talking with you was tremendously helpful! Our talk helped me move past some internal obstacles of mine. You encouraged me to see myself, my wife, my marriage with greater clarity free from the manipulation. You encouraged me to make my own informed choices based on my values. To take ownership and authority over my own choices and consequences, not as a victim, but as a competent and capable adult. Since our talk, I have been learning and growing in many ways, especially in self-acceptance, confidence, groundedness, contentment and peace. I am in a much more stable place mentally and emotionally and it shows up in better results in all my relationships - including with my estranged wife! I am not being manipulated or manipulating. Rather I am standing firm in my experience and values without any need to appease others or abandon myself for external approval. Not inconsiderate to others OR myself! Thank you so much for helping me make this perspective shift with kindness and truth. You are a 💎 keep on shining that light of yours every day!!! Numbers 6: 22-27 To you, your team, and your family with all my gratitude and brotherly affection.

There is no "I'm leaving to find myself!" The meaning of that statement is I'm leaving to see if I have better options. Yourself is within you. It isn't around the corner. When you stood in front of the world and agreed to your vows and to your loved one, you had a choice and you agreed to go along with the marriage. Either keep your word or just stay dating. Life is about making promises and if a better option comes along then it voids your commitment. A marriage is about placing your loved one before your wants. Your a team and a family.

It's all about her she still gets wife treatment and taken care of without all that nasty and risky affection. 1 child left in the home.... just a few more years...

@damianwright3690
@damianwright3690 Ай бұрын
Because as sure as anything, you're currently setting the example of how awful a marriage is and that you should stay. That is not a lesson any child wants to watch because while they're not mature adults, they're also not stupid, they can see the hurt, the constant sniping, the rejection. Stop doing it to yourself and stop showing them that, if they're male, that they have to take that behaviour for years and, if they're female, that dishing it out is how a proper marriage should be.
@melkerner
@melkerner Ай бұрын
@@damianwright3690 That's just it, there is no sniping, just dead zone avoidance of sexual intimacy and personal touch. we get a long, have fun, play games, travel, hang out - she is just shut down to all sexuality. We don't hash things out in front of the kids. They are adopted and don't want to feed insecurity or create problems for them. So people keep asking "why do you stay" - because it's a d*ck move to abandon the kids to god knows whatever her next avoidance / check out will be.

Amen. Even our Heavenly Father has his limits and cuts off the relationship at some point. Yet He welcomes us back when we confess our sins AND repent AND turn to him AND trust him going forward. It is possible between us too, but the boundaries have shifted and become much more fortified. There is NO MORE SLACK OR WIGGLE ROOM and access to any part of me is severely limited AND requires pesistently consistant proof of actions and behaviors over LOOOOOONNNNGGGG PERIODS OF TIME.
