Todays video is of a recovery machine and tank product sent to me by Vevor. This is not a proper procedure video, and the method executed isn’t the most ideal but it’s what worked for me for todays job! This machine doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of the newer equipment but the job it performed in a short amount of time was actually impressive. Also with the machine was a recovery tank they wanted me to look at, on first impressions seems pretty solid and had all the right markings (except DOT) but to recover the 5-6lbs of 410a this worked quite well and in timely matter. Hope y’all enjoy the video leave a comment down below what you think of the product 🤙🏻 #hvac #bluecollar #hvaclife #skilledtrades #tools #hvactechnician #repair #vevor #recovery

I recommend putting that recovery tank in water or ice over it to help the recovery process and keep the tank pressure lower. You can also just run water hose over it. or put it in a bucket and ice. Nice job Jake. liked it.

10-4 yessir, appreciate the tips mark! One thing I forgot to mention while flipping bottle over the knobs stick out past the handle so doesn’t sit evenly. Different subject but the same 😂

Pretty common for recovery units to shut down around 400 psig when recovery tank gets to about 120 degs F, for R410a, 150 degs F for R22, driving up the pressure for machine to work against. Cooling down recovery tank with slight water flow on it helps.

I had to use my machine a few times already in the last year. Definitely paid itself back by now. And doing it in the comfort of my own garage instead of going to a shop and wasting money and waiting around for a half assed job. Got the recovery tank from a local store though. Dont need a license for that.

You can use that port on the tank for pulling a vac.. pulling cores out is a must the appion evac kit in 3/8 is a must have all I have is 1/4 hoses with the depressors removed

Hard sell, you can find G5 Twins used for $250-300, then rebuild it with the seal kit and have yourself a rebuilt unit for about the same price. I'd personally rather have that. But if this was in the $300 price range I think it would be a great option.

Totally agree! I’ve heard great things on the G5 it’s pretty affordable to! I don’t think I would go out my way to buy this like you said but if, a bit lower would take a stab at it, performed well on one only time will tell

Question. Should the recovery tank be put on vacuum before adding refrigerant ? I have had good luck putting tank in bucket with an ice 🧊 bath 🛀. Keeps tank pressure down. Just bought a Vevor recovery tank 2 months ago. So far so good. I use a Infincon recovery machine.

That valve on the front of the tank is a little scary - seems like it'd be a little too easy to accidentally get bumped and dump a whole drum of gas....would be REAL bad if it let loose while going down the highway in the back of a van!!! 🤯🤢

Why is the tank upside down? The tank has a liquid and gas port.
@KoolinwithKrauss
@KoolinwithKrauss 11 ай бұрын
When putting liquid into the vapor port it allows the refrigerant to expand and has to compress back to a liquid again. A lot more pressure in tank and slows down recovery. By flipping it, it pushes the liquid straight into the bottom and don't have the restriction of the vapor port. By doing it that way allows refrigerant not to change states keeps tank cooler and doesn't have restriction of the dip tube from the liquid port!

Not to be that way but Vevor is not even Harbor Freight quality. It is shear junk. We got a free setup from Vevor, and it died the first time around just like yours. We only run Fieldpiece MR45's. I know other brands are pretty decent, but I am pretty invested in FP.

recovery machine maybe, but a BIG HELL NO on the recovery cylinder because it is illegal and must have a yellow top "not vevor orange" and it must be DOT tested and certified or it is illegal to transport and considering that one is not DOT stamped it is super illegal to transport and good luck if you get caught transporting it with refrigerant in it because the fine is like $25,000 or more
@KoolinwithKrauss

@@KoolinwithKrauss I don't think they are going to get it either, they are just going to sell as many illegal tanks as they can and get techs in trouble. For safety's sake, I would not buy or use that tank. Vevor's website claims it weighs 14.3 pounds. A 30-pound DOT-4BA400 tank weighs close to 18 pounds. That's over 3 pounds of steel they managed to eliminate. Scary!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE RECOVERY TANK! I just purchased one, it was missing key information to safely use it. I do not recommend! Does not have Tare weight or Water Capacity weight to safely calculate safe 80% fill weight. Contacting Vevor only gets the run around about where it was bought as they have no sales record. They will not state what the water capacity weight is for the tank. They want order number and where it was bought. Filling a tank over 80% with liquid refrigerant is DANGEROUS and they will NOT provide the information. No tare weight or Water Capacity weight stamped on the tank or mentioned in the instructions. Also not DOT certified.
@KoolinwithKrauss
@KoolinwithKrauss Жыл бұрын
I asked for similar information once receive before I used. The response time wasn’t that best, they mentioned their in the process of getting DOT certified, not sure if it’s gotten anywhere.
@Badboy7357
@Badboy7357 Жыл бұрын
@@KoolinwithKrauss Well, other than continuously asking me where I bought it with order numbers (What good is someone else's order number to them?) they will not or can't tell me how much water weight it holds when full. I could fill it up with water and figure it out myself but that would contaminate the tank and could/would cause rusting. They are still not DOT approved. I think in one e-mail they said it was still in progress. I got frustrated with them and just stopped responding to them as they are not giving any answers, only asking more questions.
