The inclusion of the wet nap and the spoon basically makes this an _Urban Combat Assault Individual_ MRE for kids living in Chicago. Rather than risk exposure to gang cross-fire in the early AM hours making lunch for the kids, you can just store these on the bottom shelf bandolier-style to be grabbed while in the prone position before making a run for it out the front door.

From my time eating MREs, I've found it best to squish the packets of PB and packets of jelly around before opening them so they're mixed up. Noticed the peanut butter was a little seperated when it came out.

I can totally understand the soggy PB and J because growing up I always loved a Cold Fried Egg and Ketchup Sandwich whether it was made the night before or even in the morning and put in the lunch box with a cooling pack. Nothing better than a somewhat Soggy Cold Fried Egg and Ketchup Sandwich. Now I am craving that and I might have to make some tomorrow morning and refrigerate them for lunch or dinner. :-)

To be fair these do have there place. Truckers, backwoodsmen, emergancy food storage ect. Not something that most people with constant access to a supermarket would buy but useful for anyone who cant hit a store on a regular basis or needs something shelf stable.

It's always good to have shelf stable food at home for emergency purposes. You never know if a storm knocks the power out, and you can't use your refrigerator or stove. You really won't want to live off of beans for a few days. I keep a good supply of fully cooked pasta and fully cooked rice that come in plastic pouches. You know, the kind that you tear the top an inch and put in the microwave for a couple minutes. But you can eat them without warming them up, too. Sure, shelf stable food like this PB and J kit might seem "expensive"....But then you'll wish you had it if a storm knocked out your power for a few days.

@@princesssprinklesthecat4192 if you are allergic to egg or any other ingredient, you cannot take it. Some cannot take it because it would do nothing for them given the state of their immune system. I think we actually need to look at why people from mental hospitals were sent to nursing homes when they got the vid. We knew it affected the elderly more, so why were they doing it? The state pays dearly for its elderly population and that would be less $$$ around for graft.

I remember eating a different Candwich about 6 or 7 years ago when they still came in metal cans. Back then the bread was more like an oversized hot dog bun and the whole thing generally seemed much better than this version. It was also eye-wateringly expensive though, which is why I never ate more than one and also probably why they don't make em like that anymore lmao

True, but 17 divided by 6 works out to about $2.83 per sandwich and I remember the ones from back in the day costing something like $5-10 per can. That ought'a get the eyes watering a bit more! At least they gave you a tiny piece of laffy taffy with it too back then lmao

Still subscribed but not surprised so many aren't. Your videos show up a lot when you search for specific food items. That means the biggest flow of people will almost always be unsubbed no matter how big you get just because people like to search the food they are eating when they are bored. I remember as a kid I used to make my own lunch when I was in grade school. Not because my mom wasn’t nice, but I just preferred to. I would always toast the bread a little before I’d make my pb&j. Not like toast you would have with your breakfast but just enough to barely crunch the outside of the bread. It would help it from getting soggy.

I love peanut butter and honey sandwiches that are a few hours old better than fresh ones too! I take them fishing. throw them in the ice chest and 6-8 hours later its just chilled enough and a little soggy, honey soaked into the bread enough to make it crusty. hard to explain. But its great!

That’s how I liked my tuna fish sandwiches when I was a kid. Toast the bread, add tuna, let it sit for a few hours then it was perfect. The bread had a nice chew that I liked. And I’m still subscribed. But I have noticed that my list of channels I’m subscribed to looked a little off a couple of weeks ago.
