I have fond memories of Slough from the seventies through to the late nineties. I've been back a few times, but not since 2017.

At least it's the best location ever... I lived there from 1998 to 2017...

I remember slough in the late 80’s early 90’s. It had a lively shopping centre/ high street and was pretty good. Loads of work. Unfortunately now it’s full of fly tipping unintegrated cultures. The huge Tesco and Sainsbury’s have gutted the high street / shopping centre. It’s so rundown like so many UK urban areas.

Beautiful place. You have captured the town very well. I have a cousin who is living right opposite Tesco

I would move there if I could buy a house I so desperately want!! Living in a flat in High Wycombe, which isn’t exactly the most exciting place to live in and my flat is poorly build with no sound insulation and I have a bipolar woman living above me who stomps and bangs a lot!!! I would not mind Slough having a depressive and lifeless town Centre as I’m not living in the centre, I’d just like a half decent house in a half decent area of Slough and I’d be grateful!

Hmmm, aren't you better off in High Wycombe or just moving to another property in that area? The only thing I think is ok about Slough is the more rural parts and the fact that Windsor and Eton are down the road, the town centre is awful.

Unfortunately the place is a dump. It has one of the highest densities of betting shops in the country and virtually no pubs anymore. What pubs are left are abysmal.

I lived in Slough for a few years, much to my shame. It was then, and still is, one of the most depressing towns in Great Britain. it is extremely multi cultured, and has so many properties absolutely packed with residents. Visit Slough by all means, for a very short while, but also make sure you visit Windsor, Eton and Maidenhead, each of which are just a very short drive away from Slough. Before you visit try to find a copy of the famous poem written by our late Poet Laureate, Sir John Betjeman, now at peace in a small churchyard in Cornwall. His poem 'Come evil bombs and fall on Slough' tells you all you need to know about the town.

Used to be a nice place in the sixties, plenty of locally owned firms, actually producing products, nice pre Tesco/Sainsbury highstreet, no at that time attempt at multicultural living. And nowadays, don't forget all the illegal garage conversions in every rear garden housing a multitude of illegals. So nice to have friends on the Town Council. Lived their, worked there, saw it change beyond recognition. Really sad.
