Oh! The "make normals row-by-row or quit alphas" was mine, lol. I completely agree with you on that, especially since I started with segment knotting right of the bat and have never made a bracelet row-by-row. I'm kinda biased since I've only made a handful of alphas ever and much prefer normals, but I stand by the fact that knotting row-by-row sucks all the joy out of normals.

Shades vs Hues The shade of a color refers to a single color fading all the way to black or all the way to white. A hue is where you get colors like blue green, yellow green etc because there’s a blue hue to the green or a yellow hue to the green.

I chose segment knotting in a Chevron because anytime I use candy stripes my bracelet curves

If your bracelet curves it means that you’re tying single knots instead of double knots. I made that mistake, too.

For the shades question I meant like any shade you want at all no matter if it was, say, a yellowish green with the green shades. Just pretty much any shades at all of the color you want

DMC made a thread pack called threadship thread and it really cheap, it’s only 4-5 dollars for variegated and regular smaller packs, just like the loops and threads craft cord but it’s embroidery floss. Just an FYI
