Often times if the executioner knew that the person being burned at the stake wasn't guilty or brought on a false charge they would burn sticks underneath the cross, causing smoke to go up before the flames reached you. The fumes would knock you out, making you not actually suffer the fate of being burned alive.
@abbystevens56936 жыл бұрын
Mook thanks for this fact...my mind finds it interesting and loves to think if that option for all the innoncent people that where burnt by fire (Executions not housefires)..long long time ago. The person that was crucified gotten the choice to drink a sedative wine so they would suffer less and be very very drowsy. Although it was still a very very painfull way to die

Still that last question gave me a spurt of faith in humanity.
@AusiKifaru279 жыл бұрын
+XxBaalshazarxX - But only half of humanity. Approximately 150,000 people die globally each day. I hardly think 10,000 more is relevant. Besides, statistaclly, 5,000 of those you kill would press the button to kill 10,000 people, so they deserve it and I'm pressing it first. Gotta love irony ;-) But mathematically, I just saved 50,000,000 people. And that's how this game works. Create a scenario that humourously justifies a decision you'll never have to make.
@Baalshazar9 жыл бұрын
I get you, people die every day. But still the one that don't choose to kill others are still better than the ones that do.5,000 may or may not choose to kill others but at least it's not me. I chose to walk away because I didn't want to do that and there are 4,999 that will take my place. Either way, I gained a little bit of respect for humanity now to go and lose it.
@AusiKifaru279 жыл бұрын
You're missing the point. If the scenario was actual, I doubt there would be many people that would happily be responsible for the deaths of 10,000 people. The results here are heavily skewed because it's taken light heartedly as something that will never happen.

Well, Ze had the right idea. If you knew your daughter was going to get kidnapped and this absolutely *HAD* to happen (because apparently you were given a horrible life-altering choice), then all you would really need to do is prepare you and your daughter for that moment (and possibly the mother too, she might need to know). Gather a team of experts ahead of time that will help you find your daughter in the shortest amount of time before anything can really happen to her. There, problem solved. She at least has a better chance than just dying at 18, and it gives you more of an actual reason to be a father in the first place.
@leof.26959 жыл бұрын
+PolarBearMusician An unspoken rule of Would You Rather is that you don't get to know things beforehand, since it nullifies the challenge of a huge chunk of the questions, for example if I knew I would get Cs and Bs at an Ivy League then I would never bother studying since I know what all of my grades are gonna be.
@PBMusiko9 жыл бұрын
Leonardo Freitas Well, if it's unspoken, how is anyone supposed to know about it? :P I'm pretty sure that's not how they were playing the game anyways, so I don't think that should apply here at least. I'm not sure I like that rule though. It's more fun to think some magical entity just appears in front of you and offers you 2 horrible (and often dumb) choices that will alter your life and you have to live with the consequences, whether good or bad, knowing you chose that life. It's even more fun sometimes, when you combine the choices you make in a row, as if that magical entity keeps showing up at your house randomly and keeps making you choose ridiculous scenarios and they just keep adding on to the choices you already made. It's like a makeshift "Choose Your Own Adventure" game. :D That's just me though.
@leof.26959 жыл бұрын
***** I asked google how an unspoken rule works, it said it's tacit assumptions or something. And yeah, from a "story"-writing perspective you could know the situations that happen beforehand I guess, maybe, probably.

From what I been told, marrying a distant cousin, like 3rd cousin, will not damage the gene pool nor add any new traits that could severely alter it. Less chances of mutations and you can keep your family genes for another generation. Problem is, this means your kids will have the same weaknesses should illness strikes and no one gets immunity unless by chance

Actually, Chilled, I've found it's quite the contrary on the university issue in my personal experiences. I work with an accounting firm and typically we get a lot of applicants from both the 'standard' universities and the ivy league schools, and what we've found is that the ivy league applicants almost always expect a much higher wage for a position that can be performed just as well by someone demanding less from other institutions. In our workplace we tend to hire much more of the 'standard' variety than the ivy leaguers. Again, though, that is just my personal experience. :)

@Visualllama9 жыл бұрын
The problem with the whole immortality would you rather is that a lot of people fail to think REALLY far ahead. After millions and millions of years, eventually our planet falls apart for one reason or another, and now you are perpetually floating through space with nothing and no one to accompany you, unable to ever die. I'm pretty sure that would drive anyone to insanity, and the chance of meeting a solid planet where you could start again is stupid low, even if you floated for another billion years. Being immortal would be fascinating and it would be amazing to be there for all of our advancements in the future, but when you think far enough ahead I just don't think there is anyone who would truly like living in that way for as long as existence is a concept.

And then various Amiibo in stacks going downward along with the stairs.

For the education question, are we talking University of Michigan as 'standard' university, or are we talking about a community college? If Michigan counts, it would be 100% choose getting A's. While I agree Ivy-leage is excellent, many top 'standard' universities have education that rivals ivy-league education (at a fraction of the cost!). The question is tricky as there are levels/tiers of 'standard' universities one can choose from. For example, there is difference between CUNY/SUNY and NYU.
