Glenda, I can't thank you enough for this vid. I live in NYC & have been a faithful B&N patron since my high school days, when they had a special location where HS & college students could purchase used textbooks at deeply discount prices. I'm in my 70s now, so we're going back quite some years 😉. I've known that B&N carries all types of craft books & magazines but this is the first I've heard of kits! There are a few stores within a decent subway or bus ride that I can get to easily so you can be sure that they'll be seeing me very soon 😊. As for the pricing, I don't feel they're expensive at all, especially when you consider than any one of us Happy Hookers can spend at least $10 to $15 in a yarn store at the drop of a hook - even if we only stopped in to 'browse' 😏. My niece in FL has been asking me for crochet lessons so I think I'll be getting her 1 or 2 of these to start with, especially since my grandnephew & his wife have recently gifted us with an adorable baby girl. That gives her an added incentive to learn, right?!? Anyway, I think I've ranted on long enough. I love your tutorials & reviews, & this morning-coffee visit just hit the spot! Thanks for all the lovely videos you gift us with. They and YOU are truly appreciated! ❤❤❤❤

To me the kits are great and as crocheters the books alone are well worth it and I am sure we have the colors needed to enhance the kit as a gift to whoever we present it to and I love the cats and and dogs

What a surprise to hear B&N has crochet kits! I've not been to one in years. I'll have to go now! I liked the puppies the best, with the $10 kit a close second. They are definitely affordably priced compared to others. Thanks so much for sharing!

My mom found that "Woodland crochet" kit at Aldi a few years ago. Aldi is a grocery store, but in the USA they have "the aisle of shame" otherwise known as the Aldi specialty items. These are typically seasonal items. That kit is marked $15 but when it was on sale at Aldi it was $10 I think 15 dollars is a good price for these kits, but 10 dollars is fabulous! The patterns are really cute too

Hi Glenda, the kits aren't badly priced when you compare them to some of the kits that are on the market, these days, especially as you get a proper pattern book with them. I'm always wary of amigurumi kits because they don't allow for the difference in tension of individual crocheters, so many people have bought different ones and not had enough yarn to complete the item. Also, most of them just have the pattern printed on a piece of paper, but these have nice looking books with multiple patterns in them, which makes it more worth the money. I especially liked the way the last kit was set up, when the box was opened. xxx Quick footnote, just had a look online, they do them, but might be worth checking out the reviews, they aren't very good, wrong size hook, not enough yarn, wrong size safety eyes, false marketing and biggest one of all, NOT beginner friendly!!!

I think any of those crochet kits are worth it. You can buy a kit for $10.00 and only get one pattern one hook one needle one yarn and embroidery thread. It's more worth it for more patterns or even just a book of patterns.

Very cute kit, I think I saw the Cute Crochet kit over at Ollies but I wasn't sure if it was too small when you finished making the small figurines. The doggy and cat kits look worth it and the cats in the cat kit are the cuties. The 1st kit they look nice but I don't think it's worth the cost, to be honest. I liked the presentation of the wildlife kit, the yarn looks pretty, so did the skunk, hedgehog and turtle but some of those other animals I don't think looked very cute
