First time watching and i am shocked that 30 years on companies are still throwing items that are saleable into the bins, Last time i went dumpster diving i found a whole collection of dinky toys model cars and trucks in a box that had been thrown out, Still like new in there boxes and some had duplicates, I think i found around 200 models that night and was so hyped when i got home going through them, I can't imagine how you felt finding all those warhammer stickers geez nice job.

@@aarondawson9990 Actually they throw them away so it is just written off as a tax rebate to the company. If you tried it though you would be sent to prison for tax avoidance, Any product that has a tax levied on it is subject to rules from the HMRC on how to write them off as a loss against profits. The only downside for the company is they have to waste bin it and send it to landfill.

I asked a Primark employee when I refused the hanger when I bought a dress what happens to the hangers? She said it costs too much to recycle them and they just get thrown away! She also said that that is why they prefer customers to take hangers with them!! So much for recycling plastic!!!

taught myself electronics repair as a kid by dumster diving ,repairing tvs,vcrs,radios and even arcade machines in my bedroom ,great times. "recycling" now means i cannot even pay to take a scrapped tv from the local dump, and its all camera,d up to make sure ! its all bolox. good to see your fully up on the legals

I was labouring doing the showroom kitchens in homebase....they threw 2 screwguns and drills in the skip which I took worked perfectly just no boxes.

I don't even know what half the stuff was that you salvaged, apart from the dried dog food and dog coats and wild bird feed. I used to do this at Halford, they would throw out all manner of car related things. I think these companies make too much profit on items, that's why they can stand the loss for the stock they dis-guard. I even found a 12 volt, 500 watt mains Voltage inverter worth £50.00,

You never do any street scrapping , like hitting the neighbhoods and going up and down each street, looking for things sitting on the street or curb? I don’t know that much about the UK, are people allowed to sit items out on the curb to be picked up by the trash truck or trucks? I know some places, towns over here is like that, the only thing they can sit out is the trash bins and that’s it. But every place I’ve scrapped at in Kentucky and Ohio, that’s how I found the bulk of everything, by street scrapping, oh I still the dumpsters too.

No it's called fly tipping if u leave items outside your house you get fined if caught here, and I only save metal that's going to landfill I leave the street scrapping for the licenced collectors.

Shoot nowadays there’s a blue million people scrapping and dumpster diving and anything else to do with it, back in the early 2000’s just before I got out of it, there was a bunch of people in then, I would have to go way out of my area, to other towns, villages, whatever just to find enough stuff to take into the scrapyard, especially up around SW Ohio.

You can leave stuff at the end of your drive if you have phoned a scrap collector to pick it upy uncles do that as a business even they are at retirement ages but yes you need a license to get rid of them at the scrapyards

I live in Manchester I used to do second hand markets about 7 years ago I took items from a B&Q skip the police pulled up I got arrested and charged with (theth by find ) I got a £200 fine

I love watching these videos and its uch a shame that these shops waste so much rather than giving to shelters,homes and charitys :( i was just thinking theres a guy i watch in the usa and he always has an extendable paint roller handle with like a hook attached at the end so he can pull the things out of the skips rather than having to lean in , maybe that would be a better idea for you to save your back :)
