Guerrilla is the title track from their Movement Episode 1 EP. This whole album is amazing. You should give it a beginning to end listen. It is one of the most cohesive albums I’ve heard.

Agree. You can feel it in their lyrics. Not part of the big4 companies but they're working hard to get the recognition. Am so happy they're finally getting what they deserve. 😍😊

Missed you guys! Nice to see another reaction to my guys Ateez! Guerrilla is from their album The World Ep 1: Movement. I'm not joking when I say this is one of the best kpop albums I've heard in years - and I've been on this kpop train since 2nd Gen! It's one of the most cohesive concept albums I've ever heard. Just banger after banger. So good! Would love for you to do a listening party to it.

About Ateez being underappreciated and underdogs... it is SO true. Ateez are under the label of KQ Entertainment, which was a really small, indebted company when Ateez debuted. Ateez were their FIRST ever group (to this day they only have another one, Xikers, which Ateez consider their little brothers and help produce their songs). Back then KQ invested everything they could in Ateez, and even sent them to Los Angeles for training. Despite that, budget was tight. Remember their debut Pirate King? How it was a performance video and not a proper MV? KQ flew them to Morocco because it was LESS expensive than staying in Korea, and filmed in as many free locations as they could (aka the freaking Sahara desert). The boys were sweating buckets (some of the staff's shoes even melted due to the heat) and wearing layered outfits, but they still danced like a professional dance group and rocked it (same thing goes for Treasure, their companion debut song, also filmed in Morocco in free locations - in some shots you can even see a random tourist). Thankfully it all paid off quickly and Ateez brought KQ out of a debt of 2 millions and pretty much saved the company. Since KQ was so small, Ateez formed an incredibly close relationship with its president (whom they call dad) and all staff members. iirc now KQ has around 80 employees, which is still quite a small number compared to the big companies (for reference, Hybe has over 1,000). So you can imagine just how SMALL they were 6 years ago. Because of their training, Ateez brought something different to the table right from the start, and while the rest of the world liked it (they had a world tour just 4 months after debut! and became known as the global kpop group), the reaction was different in South Korea. They received a lot of criticism for being loud, crazy and not fitting the box. I'm sure that their lore (one of the most extensive in kpop) revolving entirely around revolutions and anarchy didn't help. For a long time Ateez struggled in South Korea despite selling out in the rest of the world. They're one of the few groups that tour in South America, and on their American tour they had to prolong their stay for weeks because they were so in demand for talk shows and interviews. In South Korea, the company you belong to can make or break your career. It's rare for a group that doesn't belong to the big 3/4 to make it big. Not even international acclaim can help. For example, Ateez has been plagiarized a few times... and no one gave a damn or cared to defend them. Ateez went from performing for a crowd of a 1,000 people to 20k in the span of a year, worldwide, but that still wasn't enough for the industry in Korea... It's only NOW that Korean media and the industry are starting to consistently praise and defend them, because Ateez just made history by being the first ever male kpop group to perform at Coachella. They performed on the Sahara stage, which is poetic, considering that they started out in the literal Sahara desert in Morocco, back when all they had were the clothes on their backs, a big dream and immense talent. When the audience did the Break the Wall chant at the end of Guerrilla, it could be heard from every other stage in Coachella, despite Sahara being the most isolated. They performed twice, and the second week the crowd was doubled compared to week 1. Even people who didn't know them or didn't like kpop couldn't help but come and see them after their first performance rocked it and went viral (if you want to check it out, I definitely suggest their week 2 performance, the camera work is much better). For their upcoming tour later this year (in the US and Europe) they have booked entire arenas. Recently Mingi said that Ateez and KQ have broken down walls that seemed unsurmountable, and it's so true. Even though they debuted at the end of 2018... THIS is just the beginning for Ateez.

Glad you got to do this! When I watched your reaction to Halazia, I checked for a Guerrilla reaction. You'll want to watch the prologues for this one, too, because it really brings in the storyline and concepts, and just makes Guerrilla that much more complete a package set. Plus, the album is a whole story start to finish, and leaves us ready for the next chapter. They really are something special, and as they head into the European leg of the Break the Wall tour (it's amazing from the live shows where fans are screaming BREAK THE WALL!!!!), I think their popularity is growing exponentially. I hope it translates into the Korean market a bit more because they've really got everything a group should have and then some.

I apologize to Ateez fans (I don't like it when someone writes comments about other bands), but NCT 127 is making a comeback right now. Please pay attention to them. We have 3 new songs, and two of them are just amazing for me! In Ay-yo you will see the return of the legendary duo Jungwoo and Doyoung (from Boss era) with trip-hop/acid jazz bridge. DJ is a direct reference to 80s hip-hop with jazz and funk samples.
