Shoutout to Necerium Cloudes for his video recently showing a great ZF leveling strategy! This is a Zul'Furrak (ZF) one pull strategy that can be done at lv 42+! It's an absolutely incredible strategy to be able to go from lv 52 - 54 incredibly fast and is the best speed leveling method on a mage in this level range.
I practiced this on my stream over the past few days and got it down to pretty much a science, so I wanted to share everything that I've learned with all of you. This strategy has allowed me to complete runs in as fast as 6 minutes and 30 seconds resulting in INCREDIBLE xp/hr rates, sometimes reaching upwards of 250k/hr. I settled on a rate of 150k/hr to keep it at an average and attainable goal for most people.
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite one pulls and is exceptionally easy to do with the appropriate gear and blizzard one pull strategy. I hope this helps you fly through the levels!

I used this strat (thanks Arlaeus!) to level from 44 to 54 and it was very fast. Some tips: 1) For races that are too tall to use the safe spots and need consumables, you have another option besides noggenfoggers (which aren't available until level 44). Savory deviate delights work perfectly, last an hour, and you can still mount up! 2) If using safe spots on the way to the GY, don't wait just until the mobs are reset. Make sure any totems that are remotely close to you are also down. Otherwise, they tend to put you back in combat when you peek out to mount up. 3) On your first few runs, instead of immediately triggering the boss and opening graves I recommend you lose your trailing mobs behind the pots on the left as you enter the graveyard. Then, with no mobs around, practice the jump up onto the boss's temple. I had a lot of trouble with this jump at first because I was trying to jump in the actual corner, but it's easier if you don't hug the wall. It took me a few tries to learn it but it's super worth it! You make pretty decent gold as well.

A few tips for some difficult situations that can arise during this. 1) If you pull the Shadow Hunter: Keep him targeted and sheeped the whole time. I've pulled him like 5 times and he's always been on the far left side so just make sure all your Blizzards are away from him. Kill him afterwards. This is definitely made easier if you properly use your gems and any pots you have. 2) if you pull the Witch Doctor: This one is super easy. You should have a Shoot command for your wand on your bar. If you are on the small pillar (far from the boss) you can hit almost anything from that distance. make sure to wand kill any Healing Totems that the Witch Doctor drops. Killing her after can be an issue as she heals, but just jump back and for using Frostbolt or your wand. She will eventually run out of mana and just drop totems which can be killed. 3) The second save spot jump can be super tricky. I line myeself up with the shadow on the ground and jump about a step or two after I pass the end of the shadow. If you are having a huge problem with it, use the first vase to reset the trailing mobs after the initial run. Then go back and practice the reset jump. Thanks for the video Arlaeus! The easiest is just use cone of cold on the floor and run in a circle. But takes a bit longer Also if you suffer with latency you're gonna have a hard time with these farms. I used to play on US with 120ms all the time and it most definitely makes it a nightmare

Just recently started this on a 42 male undead, 1477 HP and 3465 mana, and have some tips for ya from trial and error. First safe spot I recommend running up the left side and sitting behind the boxes instead of going through the middle or blinking towards the rear. The LOS for the mobs definitely took some practice, but don't be afraid to wiggle around in there and use a /sit macro. I've also ice blocked in there a few times and that somehow reset aggro a couple times. Next safe spot, you can nova snap nova the two packs, but I prefer the mount speed and just run pass them. Blink into that safe spot and wiggle around, making careful note of the pats. And the mad dash to the last spot is pretty straight forward. Took me 2h 30m to get to the last safe spot on my first try, 23m for my second, and was able to get there on my third attempt in 8 minutes. Keep at it and don't give up, I promise it gets better, and that sweet sweet xp is so worth it! GL!

I did it !! Took about 20-30 tries at lvl43. But damn those first 2 reset points behind the boxes are tricky with pats coming in. You need to reposition yourself from side to side of the boxes and try losing agro from mobs who are sometimes looking at you from both sides one by one. They can see you when you're in the crevice between the boxes as well so keep that in mind. Also minor speed on boots helps alot, and some mana and hp pots. You should wait till your shield has about 5-10 seconds left on cooldown because you want to use it again when approaching the reset points, you can use it before or after u blink the last distance. And do blink, it makes it easier. At the aoe part try to agro the packs of zombies quickly after eachother else you're gonna have a hard time getting them packed closely. Also if you're running low on mana and your evocation is on cd just stop aoeing and do the jump a few more times to give yourself some time to replenish mana. Tnx for the video and tips !!

AMAZING video, great explanations. I found that as UD, some of the "reset" spots had a lot of trouble with shadow mages continuing to keep aggro. Level 44 for reference. Polymorph, counterspell, and making some subtle adjustments behind the boxes did the trick

Awesome video, thank you. This may be common knowledge now, but the spot under where you jump from ledge to ledge during the kill phase (between the wall column and the very first block at the ground level) is also a reset spot. if you fall off when you are on the ledge closest to the witch doctor you can hide in between the two blocks to reset. You can then mount up and jump back up the exact way you came down (all the way back around the witch doctor) to get all mobs once again and repeat the encounter. If the mobs get to you before you make it to the spot they can technically path to you if they have LOS when you enter the spot, however. This spot has saved me quite a few times.

well the pull mechanic is broken. and very little explanation about it. that you learned it in 2 hours kudos to you, but the pulls are not easily explained in any way. the most important part of the video is kinda at the mark when he said to jump back and forth to dont dis-aggro the mobs. well breaking news, it's not that easy. there are 95% of the time some stranglers still down there, either you 1) do the (dangerous) effort and pull them as well which is really inconfinient. or 2) you just do smaller pulls. to get this down to pull all mobs you need alot more knowledge than just jump back and forth 2 times and that it . lul...

@@scrimptv2783 I jump back and forth back and forth, the first third of the pull in 60-70% of the cases disengages. with no obvious reason to me, since sometimes they come and sometimes they disengage. it seems random to me. the other 2 thirds have stranglers almost all the time standing around and not coming with the pull (even when pulling the first mob in the chain so they should all come...) either you found something out by coincidence and feels natural to you but wont get mentioned in this video here or I do something obvious wrong. thanks for responding anyway.

When you fail your jump from wall to wall and you know that you cant make it up again without diing. There is also a save spot on the very left rock when you look direction north.(its the right rock at 24:49) If thats the rock width: [_______], stand here [_x____], sit down and wait. Sometimes its hard to get them off you and 1 or 2 mobs will remain. just frostnova and run/jump to the next save spot and restart your procedure. Even you have to start killing the zombies from 0 its still better then diing ;). Thank you for the great video Arlaeus :)

Tried this with my alt Mage and it's definitely one of the easiest way to level from lvl 42 to lvl 50+, and this comes from a person who sucks playing as a mage. Easily the hardest part in this is to actually get there through all that trash without dying. (most of my deaths were caused by those Shadowcasters, even while inside reset spot) It took me almost couple dozen attempts to get through the trash, but the actual killing part was child's play and I managed to get it right on my 1st attempt. Thanks for sharing this. Now I don't have to level via repetitive questing nor pay buy myself into one of those incredibly expensive Maraudon boosts ( 20g/reset, just wtf?!? ).

Great content! I will say it seems you got the most optimal arrangement of mobs. Instantly much harder for those who are 42 and have the melee mobs closest to pathway in early ZF. You seem to (and me on my first clear) seem to have gotten the casters toward the path, which gives you more time to get away and not get hit by melee mobs. Specifically the groups at and after @12:14 . Nice though!

Hey buddy, first time comment and love your videos. Something that my brother and I discovered a while back that made the run to the graveyard easier. At 12:30 in your video, if you hang a right and go up the hill you can jump with your mount and land on the ledge. run to the end of it and the Mobs will reset, you then jump onto the wooden little pillar which will allow you to re-mount. This will allow you to save your IB and Cold snap. Let me know if this comment doesn't make sense and I'll post a vid to ya.

Tall as trolls are i had to use Noggenfogger (quest available at lvl 44) as suggested which works perfectly fine. After few tries i'm now able to reliably reach the "kill the boss" phase. Missed some of the mobs at first and had problem to put blizzard on the sweet spot. Need few more tries to get it. Thanks for the awesome video.

This is an outstanding guide and extremely well done! I'm a lvl 42 trying to do this, and I have to say Arlaeus makes it look way easier than it actually is. This is a very high risk, high reward way of getting xp/gold. It takes about 5 minutes to get to zombie area if you do it cleanly (again, lvl 42). It takes another 2-3 minutes to set up the zombies. Zombie dazes you? Gotta restart. Miss a jump? Gotta restart. Zombies make it through blizzard due to spell batching? Gotta hope they don't get too close and hit you, if so you get dazed/instant killed. Bad luck with pat critting you at the worst times? Shield gone, dazed...gotta restart. After about 5-6 hours of trying this I've found almost every single way not to do this. Problem now is getting my blizzard in the right spot, but zombies come in at different points and some walk all the way through the blizzard without getting touched by it and it throws everything off. Just to reiterate: OUTSTANDING guide, the best there is. Just don't think it'll be as easy as everyone says it is.

Since I wrote this I have gotten more efficient at getting to zombies, so takes about 4 mins to get there as long as there are no LOS issues with the reset points. Takes about 1 min to set up zombies. And about 6-8 minutes to kill them (granted I go slower and only do 1 blizzard cast per jump back and forth). Total run time with no issues is about 16 minutes at lvl 42.

all in all, its a neat trick and it makes you money and some cloth, if any of you are angry or can't quite master it - welcome to how gaming was in the 90's and early 2000's before everything got dumbed down and watered down, there was no hand holding in games back then, no handholding here, real hardcore! :) still works in sept 2024, but theres quite a few little tricks and niggles you have to figure out by yourself that arent mentioned in the video. first of all, trying to jump on the graveyard corner near the boss got me killed a few times untill i realized you have to run into the wall, step back a little, then just jump and while in mid-air press W to go forward and land on the ledge. it will get you up every time. i spent like 5 runs dying trying to jump from far away, trying to run into the wall and jump+w at the same time etc, none of these work. also the safe spots arent always 100% safe and wont reset mobs, sometimes u gotta shield up, run back to get the mobs to move, then blink back. also blizzarding the gathered mobs at the end can be tricky, if you do it in a bad spot you can get half the mobs dying on the side of the mountain and they wont be reachable to loot, its tricky but you gotta kill em on the wall coming to you, not the mountain.

I noticed that too, the safe spot has to block their LoS (Line of Sight) so for instance with the blocks, tuck in close to the block and avoid their sight and they’ll reset. The fountain is a TERRIBLE “safe spot”. Don’t use it.

Most players won't be able to use certain reset spots as you'll need to be sitting in order to reset them, problem is, where some of the reset spots are, is right by a pack of mobs. As soon as you stand up to mount, you're back in combat. You're better off just mount running the whole way to the GY reset, but by that time ice barrier and mana shield have faded, so it takes some timing. In essence the hardest part is actually getting to the GY, once there it's a pretty straight forward rinse and repeat action.

At around 25 min you are showing how to handle a failed jump. I was doing this on my mage and found a reset spot at the bottom there between the left two stones! I was doing it on a troll mage and just had to sit to get the mobs to reset, super helpful for people who fail jumps like me :)

As a gnome (42) who just started doing this. I keep constantly getting stuck in the GY trying to get up on the ledge reset spot and die. having to reset and start over. Is there a trick to jump up there effectively?

On the stairs facing the boss there is a little cubby on the right that you can run in and jump up on the platform. It takes a little more time than the corner but its safer. One warning is that if a caster is close enough they can still cast on you but after jumping up you can just run around the side to the same corner and hide behind the statue until the reset.

Had the same issue, but another post by Andrew Small below provided the answer: - finally, THAT jump, you know the one I mean at the safe spot in the graveyard room. You don't get much time to try before you get mashed. The jump is actually simple, DON'T run forward as you jump! Press jump and THEN press W to go forward. Point yourself slightly to the right as you do it. 2 hops and you'll be up!

Little hiccup though : as a 42 when you have (with some difficulty as the vase in the zombie room bugs sometimes) opened all the graves, you cannot pull the zombies that are in the entrance of the room because when you do and move to the spot to aoe them you have to go through the ledge behind the boss and you aggro him and he doesn't seem to reset (like at 5:40 in the video) so you can't aoe down the mobs. Anyone having this problem ? And a solution to this ? I hope I made myself clear as it a bit tricky to explain this :D

I find the hardest part being the grave opening...Everytime after i run from behind the pots to open the graves it's right here 3:59 where everything goes to shit because my nova doesnt get them all cuz some are still at the boss so they run back and beat the shit out of me and what's worse is the safespot jump. If you fail it then you will 100% die and that spot is cancerous to jump up to. Edit: I'm an idiot and didn't realize that i should not open the last graves with the other zombies still active, i got it down now pretty much but its quite annoying when you pull them and some of them start evading and reset. doesnt happen too often tho.

This guide makes it seem a lot easier than it really is, and it takes a while to master, you will die a lot when first starting out, and you will still die a couple times even post 50. Don't expect to get 150k or 40g per hour, those are not realistic numbers, but what you will get is still 10x better than questing/aoe farming. Don't give up.,

There is also a reset point between the 2 bits of rubble at the bottom, just wedge yourself in there if you fall off and the zombies are between you and the left side and they will reset then you can start again :)

Just used this video on my second monitor to complete this for the first time. for level 42 I got 36k exp and 42 mobs! I'm not sure if that's low or high, but it felt great to complete the run!

On the second reset spot, the mobs can actually see you over the first box if you are not a gnome, so if the pat is patrolling and you are below lvl 44 he will see you and its very tricky to get out of combat after that, you will basicly have to bait the mobs to one side, nova them and go to the other side to reset aggro. Otherwise he will just instantly aggro on to you each time you leave combat

level 44, I've spent 6 hours doing this. I just can not fathom or understand how on earth the reset spots on this video are so smooth. The mbos bug for me, they keep me in combat, they kill me. And the jumps, no one talks about the jumps. The amount of times I've died trying to jump up in the GY room to the wall to reset after opening graves is unbelievable. I am so infurating how ridiculously challenging this is. I'm getting frustrated at everyone saying, it's easy just practice. Ive honestly tried noggenfloggers, and /sits (im udnead male) and nothing resets smoothly ever. I've managed two . just two succesful runs in 6 hours.

I died many times but I started farming GY at 40. It's possible but I had to learn the best possible path to run in order to survive. I stacked up a lot of stamina and used healing potions + defensive scrolls every run. In addition to the reset spots, there are a couple of important jumps to avoid hits and walls/edges to run behind at perfect timing to LOS the shadow bolts. I also did a lot of spinning jumps to try and avoid getting hit from the back. When at the graveyard however, I very rarely died. I never had problem with mana. The pulls and the killing strategy is golden and very simple, it just sucks to reach it.

Im a noob mage. I saw this video 2 days ago and lvl up to 45. This was the first time I every try aoe farming. I died 3 times then I got my first succesful attempt. After that I havnt failed a single time and HS this is nuts. Its also more fun than questing :))Thanks.

Heya man, great video as always, seen this somewhere else but your guides for them are always the best, sadly can't make use of this because I did this the old fashioned way when I was leveling my mage (But sent this to my mates leveling mages atm) - Time for you to redo your race to 1-60 leveling a mage, so you can use this to speed up the run - Also you are now level appropriate to do the solo BRD left room pull, maybe you should do that vid next ;) Shadowhunters I remember hurting like hell at level 42

PSA: If you use flamestrike, there's a HIGH chance of not hitting enough mobs, and therefore that pack will reset. Use level 1 blizzard to hit all of them at once and guarantee no reset.

I've noticed nifty stopwatch is very useful for low levels to reach safe spots, if you get dazed blink/nova then stopwatch, saved me multiple times

Tried this yesterday at 42. The running to the safe spots is relatively easy. I struggle with the kill phase so far. Hoping to get my first completion today:) Highly recommend as much "of the eagle" gear you can get, also if you have a priest in your guild have them hit you with a Stam buff.

i use dual accounts, and when the PVP patch hit as i was leveling my shaman with my warrior main, i stayed in Zul Farrak all the way to 56.5, before venturing to BRD, yes i could go ST but it is not convenient in and out to vendor like ZF, and BRM was off limits for a long time. Also a big tip at lvl 56 i invited a lvl 42 (i do know lowering avrage group lvl trick, did not understand it was this OP), i went up from 120 ish xp to 350xp or something. huge difference, full clear alone with lvl 60 was maybe 10-15% but with that low lvl easy 30-35%. Nice stuff.

Tested it out as a bad mage player. Basically works fine, died about 4 times before i got a group down. U get the hang of it the more you do it. With rested experience i ended up getting 13 bars from 1 pull. did 3-4 instances gave me 2 levels and 44. Mana isn't much of a issue, just make sure you got mage armor on. U can keep jumping up and down and regen mana basically without issue's forever. The biggest issue is getting ot the boss really, sometimes there are just to many mobs. as i got a low hp pool, its pretty hard on that front.

I’ve successfully done this once on my third try at level 43. I’ve then attempted 10-11 more times with no luck. For those attempting this for the first time, or doing any kind of dungeon pulling for ZF(such as myself), I was able to get half a level at 43 in one run. But At 43, I feel luck makes or breaks a run. As a human, it’s hard hiding behind the blocks to de-aggro pats, sitting works, but finding that sweet spot with mobs around is difficult. I will wait until 44 so I can rank up my blizzard.

@@veddyveng Warning, long text, lol. Level 44 gets a bit better because of your ranked up Blizzard and Mana Shield. I assume level 45 would be even better because your Ice Barrier ranks up too. But I was able to pull successfully 2 times(out of maybe 9-11 attempts for today) and level up to 44, which is muuch better than 43. I'm slowly getting the hang of it. For hiding behind the boxes, you'll have to get a feel for it through trial and error, which unfortunately means tons of deaths. There are times where no matter where I sit, i'll still get bolted to death or a fire totem will break my character's sit(at level 43). I've had a lot of success having my character sit since my char is human. Sitting it important if you're not a gnome. Initially, hiding was so frustrating as I couldn't get it down. For hiding behind the first block at 12:44 , I initially went with option one, since I was a bit nervous of missing the jump of going in the middle. But now after many runs, jumping straight over the boxes I feel is faster/better. Then again this all depends on the Blood Drinker pat. Hiding behind block two is easier, but be careful of the pat as it has a full view of your char model. I've had mixed runs with this at level 43, 44 not so much as the aggro range is a bit smaller. I get really nervous doing the grave part, well actually this whole run in general, which ends up me missing a bunch of graves, and the graves I can't get because I already spawned mobs between them. To get the rest, I just aggro the boss on top of the pillar. Now I'm trying to figure out kiting comfortably. Staying too close to the ledge that is closest to the graves is insta-death as they can reach up to you when they're approaching the hill. Staying close to the left-most side of the wall is important. I found out the hard way. Then I somehow pulled ONLY the mob that cast healing totems, which became just an infinite loop of jumping and wondering what the hell I'm going to do next. I'll have to try out that safe spot from missing the jump, as someone here commented. Other times I deaggro'd the half the mobs, which I THINK is due to running in the middle of the wall(the dark tan area of the wall) which is completely fine since I didn't die. Just make sure the mobs aren't already up.....as other times half the mobs deaggro'd and half are already up on the hill. I haven't tried noggenfogger yet or the minor boot speed, which I will definitely get enchanted the next time I log on. I've never done any dungeon kiting before, so this is all new to me. At first I thought it wasn't worth all the dying even though I was following everything in the video. But once you get past those mobs and get into the graveyard, and watch that sexy line of blue mobs you're killing from your first successful pull... it is sooooooooooo satisfying... watching those 75's and then 90's fill up your screen and watching those purple bars fill up your experience. After your 3rd successful try, it's definitely worth all the time to get this down. Leveling from 42-43 took me 7-8 hours of just doing party runs in Uldaman. But from 43, I reached 44 in 3 hour and 15 mins which is all attempts. I'm half way into 44 with 1 hour and 45 mins time (one pull gets me half way to a level, with each mob giving ~750 exp each). It's best to just do it, and then reference this video thanks to Arlaeus' explanations, as it really is spot on and helpful. Try not to get discouraged as this is really challenging at first. It can be such a pain of finally getting past all those mobs to the graveyard...and then dying at the kiting part for a silly mistake that could have been avoided. And mind you that my heart is racing every time I do this, lol. After a level up, I appreciate this run much more. Sorry for this long post, hope this helps. Don't get discourage and take breaks!

There's a safespot at the block just below the walls where you're jumping back and forth. If you mess up you can simply reset the pull from there and try again :-)

@ everyone. A couple of things I would like to say: 1. Prepare to die at least 50 times before you can do this good. That means that if you tried everything yourself. Tried all the different places inside the instance..you probably have to deal with at least 50 times amount of deaths. It is not so fun as it seems. Also. What he shows you. It really sounds and looks really easy, when he does it. But believe me. This is one of the most difficult things you have to do in world of warcraft classic/vanilla. Why? - 1 reason: this dungeon is made for 5 persons. You have to deal against something "Alone" and "solo" everything that suppose to be done with 5 man. So yes, it is something difficult. It is not easy. 2. If you are lvl 44-46 you can easily rush through the whole instance on your mount with both shields up. It is possible to get to the graveyard wall without have to stop 1 time. It really is possible. Above all it is possible on lvl 48. He does not mention it. 3. The scarabs. I had to die around 4-5 times to finally understand what I did wrong and not so good. His blizzard tactic is different then the zombi part. The scarab part is totally different movement technique and moments you have to take. After a while I finally notice that you have to move away from channel cast blizzard at around 75% channeling. So when you channeled the spell 75% (75% of the channelbar) you have to move backwards slightly. This way the blizzard impact and frost particles from the sky can still continue to fall down. If you fully channel the channeling spell, what I did., you let the scarabs get to you and it is almost impossible to kill them. When blizzard stops/cancels at a 75% channeling bar, the blizzard , last impact/ticks, still continue to go off, and you have time interval for about 1-3 seconds (like he shows in the movie). 4. It is impossible for me to get on the wall at the scarab boss. How the heck do you get on the wall. Besides that. It is also possible to NOT aggro teka..while standing behind him or just when standing on the right spot where you fire the frostbolt rank 1. If you can get to this place without aggroing boss or any other patrol, it should be possible to do without going on the wall. At least I did it without going on the wall at teka. It is really also possible to do it this way. 5. Really important (what he does not say), the graves are not important. I always thought that looting the graves for silk (mageweave cloth and silk cloth) is really important. But actually dying is more of a pain then trying to loot hte graves for extra cloth. It is a though choice to make. But after 2-3 deaths. I finally come to the conclusion that opening the graves QUICKLY as possible asap is more important then trying that 1-2 extra gold from the graves. Just see it as an extra thing. If you loot one grave..okay, be happy, but if you dont, no worries, just keep on moving. It is really important to do the graves part as quickly as possible...

where you explain the falling down on the wrong side, i think you could just jump to the long ledge if you were to use the skull of impending doom... i doubt an actual offhand would make much of a difference in farming this. so equipping the skull of impending doom (maybe even nifty stopwatch too if you've spent the time on the quests), would greatly benefit you in making your run as safe as possible. you fall, you pop it, you fly right back up any safe side ledge, and back to killing. and also, i'm relatively new to playing mage (played it like 10 years ago) so it would be nice to see what talents you use for this and why (i don't know if aoe builds differ from instance to instance).

Regarding the scarab pull: what is the macro you use @20:18? Can you share it please? Moving back to the GY part of the video, I have two questions: 1) When I am clicking the graves to release the zombies, I seem to open them more slowly than you, thereby resulting in more contact time with them prior to hitting the safe spot. Are you using a macro that allows to open the graves more quickly? 2) Sometimes when I click the graves, my click results in looting the grave which of course also slows me down and leaves me with more contact time with the mobs before I reach the safe space. Do you have any advice? Thank you for the amazing videos. You are my First Search when it comes to Mage AoE farming guides.

Well this is just awesome! Needed about 2,5 hours do get this done. Now im already 49 and its just easy going! Some things i had problems with: - From getting boosted through SM my Defenseskill wasnt up....i noticed that you get dazzed every time if you defense skill is way too low. This caused some wipes xD - Try to stay mounted on your way to the GY. The double Nova thing after the first reset spot is nice but you can just get through by straving ^^ - Take your time on the kill phase, dont try to blizzard twice in the beginning. You are nervous enough and dont need the mobs so close too you when you still "learning" the jump. little question: Is it worth to loot the graves? I only get 1 or 2 Silver and some trash items for some copper. Is there a chance to get better loot?
