I've been darn impressed with mine, it is *way* more stout than you'd have any expectation of it being with just a look! I strongly suggest the backpack power unit, it drops the weight of the combined assembly by a whole lot, even with a big battery. Where I love this in particular is mostly for the the porch and stuff where the bigger snow blower doesn't fit, and for "trimming" out around the cars, stairs and stuff where it's awkward to get the blower turned around, or you risk scraping up the car with the handle.

Great demo mate! I've used mine here in the states about 9 times this year and I love it. It's got some quirks but nothing insurmountable. The lower grip varies by user. I wish the diverter locked in the middle as well (just sometimes you need to throw straight ahead). I've got smaller (lighter) batteries from other EGO products but have never had power issues. You're fortunate that your pavers are completely level because it will catch on concrete expansion cracks. Some people have suggested a shoulder strap but that limits quick mobility. Thanks!
@JayRockGroundsMaintenance Жыл бұрын
Yeah absolutely ! It did catch on certain areas which is a bit of a pain but I see why It needs to sit flush. There was times when I did stop it roughly straight to throw forward which worked pretty good too! Definitely good for the odd time we do get snow here! This is probably the first we have had it like this for a good few years in my location - definitely handy when the time is right !😄

Installing a heated driveway will cost anywhere from $10-$25 per square foot to install. The average cost is $8,500. While this is a large sum of money a heated sidewalk or driveway will last 15 - 20 years if it is taken care of well.

Great video! I took a chance and bought mine in August on Amazon. I already had three batteries and chargers from earlier Ego bundle purchases. First wet snow and a few inches mine just pushed the snow. I blamed the centrifugal clutch and thought ... oh well. But ... then last week ... a fresh snow (lots) ... zero degree weather and it worked like a champ and cleared the drifts on the deck and I even ventured into the street to clear a path to the mailbox and it handled the ice chunks really well. I did wind up purchasing the 5 AH battery just in case. Question ... Ego provides no wear plates for this snow remover. Anyone have any suggestions to prevent the bottom from wearing out? Happy New Year!
@JayRockGroundsMaintenance Жыл бұрын
Awesome ! Great to hear you are enjoying yours ! I found the 5amp batteries serviced me for around 30-40 minutes before fully dying. Not a bad run time 😄 Also a fantastic point reference the bottom plate, something I never even thought of! I’ll mention this to EGO

Not time efficient if you can push a snow plow shovel. I can so it would be a waste of time for me in a snow this deep. I like it for the edges though.
@JayRockGroundsMaintenance Жыл бұрын
Yeah I suppose it depends how much work you want to do, I feel it makes things a lot easier than shovelling especially on pathways, 2-3 passes and your done 😄
@joq702 Жыл бұрын
@@JayRockGroundsMaintenance I understand 100%, but when it is 2-4”, plowing, not shoveling, is way quicker and actually I would argue is easier than operating a battery operated unit. I have Greenworks products (60V) myself (not EGO although I used to have). I do not “shovel” snow meaning I do not lift snow if the snow on my driveway is just 2-4” of snow. For the edges, yes, shoveling up and over or throwing it way over with an edger unit like this makes perfect sense. Also, to me it depends on the size of your driveway you are clearing. Most of these snow throwers are 12”-16” and that is not very wide. I also do not have time to only do 12-16” at a time. For those of us that physically can still push a manual snow plow (I have a 24” True Temper and a 36” width one), I say please go watch a few videos also on how easy and quick it is to clean off a driveway.

@@dunnoyolo2238 I must say I don’t 100% agree, I believe it depends what you are doing and what your uses are, I don’t think it is 100% there for everyone but for example I have used a battery 19” mower on every domestic property this year, no issues at all, same with strimmers & trimmers, they go all day with the batteries I have. Whereas if someone is covering 20 acres a day it obviously wouldn’t be enough, just depends on use. I use a Ferris zero turn for the commercial and acreage mowing 👍🏼
