The bass player is Marko Hietala, often called the Father of Metal in Finland, and that is no small thing as Finland has more metal bands per capita than any other country in the world. He has a long and distinguished career dating to before his 20 year stint with "Nightwish". His own band "Tarot" is a must listen, as is his solo album "Pyre of the Black Heart" released in 2020, versions in both English and Finnish. He also sings with the Group "Northern Kings" and is often a guest vocalist with other bands. I agree with the others who have said that "High Hopes" from the "End of an Era" tour in 2005 is a must listen. I think you will enjoy your journey through the "Nightwish" catalog. No two songs are the same, and there isn't a bad song in the bunch.

Marko actually won Finland's version of The Masked Singer. As well as everything that the other comments are mentioning about his other bands. He also does an amazing version of Phantom of the Opera with Tarja. The older version is best. The new version was nice to see, but the audio and singing wasn't their best work.

Like I have said many times, this line characterizes this song the best for me: This song is Like a Coffee with Red Bull .... On Steroids 🤘❤‍🔥🤘. Also, the “scream” at the end is called a glissando, going from low to high and back, for classically trained singers this is an exercise to warm up the vocal cords, so Floor will do this probably every day before breakfast . Yes, another Nightwish reaction 😍! Valkyrie Queen Floor and Viking Warrior Marco doing the bangee scream 😊 legendary! If you want to hear more Marco stuff just go with "High Hopes" live at the end of an eara show (a tribute to Pink Floyd) or "The Islander" live at Tampere , both worth a watch. If you want to here more harmonising between Floor and Marco "7 days to the wolves " live at Wembley would be a good watch (not just for the harmonys, also great guitar solo from Empuu)....I could go on and on, to be honest, every song you pick from every concert is awesome. Ok you've started off well with Epica and Nightwish. You have to add Unleash the Archers if you like master metal classes with phenomenal female lead singers. Go with "Awakening", "Tonight we Ride" and "Time Stands Still". If you want more of Marko from Nightwish, try High Hopes, While your lips are still red and The Islander.

I do upload non Patreon requests from time to time, but I do have a job outside of YT. I get to record maybe 3 videos a week, so I always make sure to record the Patreon request first since they are actively donating money for videos. Yes. Marko Hietala is one hell of a vocalist, bass player, and acoustic guitarist. You probably need to check out Nightwish's 2005 cover of Pink Floyd's "High Hopes". Marko Hietala (pron: HEE-ah-Tallah) is a classically trained guitarist, bassist, songwriter and incredible vocalist both solo and in harmony. There are many many Nightwish songs that feature his vocals more prominently. I do have to be honest... you are not doing yourself any favors by NOT listening to Nightwish except when someone pays you to. Just go to Gabriel Bardac's YT channel, Community tab, and grab the list of links to best performances...and go crazy! It just gets better...

Nice,but you left out the stage presence of this band wich,next to the singing,playing and compositions is for me , one of the best in the "bussiness". I see them as proud musicians who really believe in the thing they are doing,it's just very uplifting to get that feeling when you watch and listen to them.There are some others ,who give me the same feeling,but ,especcially in this decade,the list is very short.I like to think all musicians have the same goal,to make the best music they like,but it seems to me that money or being famous is a more important driving force for,not all,but lot of them. These musicians worked hard for the "place"they are being now,it's just impressive if you have followed their carreers,so i wish them all the best.🤘 greets from Spain.👍

I'm 74, the Rolling Stones and Nightwish with Floor and Marko ( and Jukka the drummer also, but he had to quit after 2013 for health reasons ) are the best bands in history of music. Jukka's replacement Kia does a great job but just isn't as dynamic as Jukka was. MPO

I really think you need to check out the CD versions of the songs. This is not Floor at her best at all. She is better on the Nightwish songs which were written with her range and vocal style in mind. For this it just sounds like a bad karaoke compared to Tarja (whose voice this was written for). Tuomas is a genius at writing for the singer once he's got to know them (like the first album with Annette didn't show her voice off to its best compared with the others she did with them). But it does make them hard to be performed by others. Floor could easily cover Annette's stuff, but its so hard to try and sing parts for Tarja. I recommend checking out Tarja's cover of Muse's Supremacy for a really clear example of the sort of high notes she can hit. I've not heard Floor use such high notes in any of her songs with ReVamp, After Forever, Northward or Nightwish. Her vocal range is still large, 3 octaves, but Tarja can stretch 3 and a half so you get some extra notes which Floor just can not hit either in the studio or live.
