This was my first Transformer toy in the 80s too. Love Trailbreaker.

@Khorzho Nice! Yeah, I played with him so much back in the day so I can't believe he held up after all these years. You never forget your first Transformer! ;) Do you still have him?

@heroicnonsense1 I do still have him! Tucked away in my G1 storage. The plastic for all of my 80s Transformers has gotten very brittle. When my two boys were old enough (about 7 years ago) I let them raid my Transformers box, and within an hour Optimus lost a leg, and Megatron's waist had shattered. And they weren't being rough. They just fell apart. This did prompt me to start collecting War for Cybertron (which had just debuted) and man have we loved the new stuff. Even got in on Haslab Unicron. Stuff of my 80s dreams 😁

@@Khorzho Oh wow - Unicron! Yeah, my boys were still too young for Unicron at the time of release but man, would get that in a second now if they ever re-released him! I wonder what made the plastic on yours brittle - mine has faded a bit, but they generally seem OK. Though I do have a bunch with damage (like Prowl's windshield cracked off etc...Now Masterpiece - that's where I've had a few of those break with my kids playing with them, but it happens! I restarted collecting at War for Cybertron as well because they really started reproducing those early G1 characters and styles again, specifically with my boys. Definitely stuff of 80's dreams. Still collecting then? I'm looking forward to the next group of Combiners!

@heroicnonsense1 Yep. Still collecting. The Legacy stuff hasn't been as intriguing as the War for Cybertron lines so its slowed down a bit. There are still some must haves though.

@@Khorzho I've found that as well for the most recent few releases (up to Legacy United), though I feel like it's starting to pick up again and I think second half of 2024 into 2025 will be good. If they really do the SS'86 Megatron and Prime, those will likely be must haves (especially if Prime's trailer is a full, proper one), and would be nice to have a Devastator that's a bit more play-friendly (for kids) but would also be in scale to the other combiners (present and future). A new Metroplex (or re-release) would be nice! Question is - where do they go after all that...

My first was Optimus. lost the box but had everything else. Lost it in a out of state move in a storage unit. Guess i lost more money in rent that i would have made if i sold him. which i never would have

@sambuvca22 Lost the box only or the toy as well? I still have my G1 Optimus which was definitely my favorite as a kid. I remember exactly when I got him and even how my parents surprised me with it. I sadly don't have the box (unless I end up finding another stash of my original boxes somewhere else back home - which I doubt). One of the boxes I did find for another G1'er though, which I'll keep for a surprise for now until I post the review, is definitely a holy grail for me.

@acusticsunri4255 Yup - repainted and retooled. Funny thing is, I never had Hoist so no idea how I have his fist! I'm guessing they probably got mixed up when I played with my friends and they brought their toys - in this case Hoist. I do have tons of other loose pieces hanging around so I'm not giving up just yet on finding the original black fists!

@juliegrine2875 Thanks! and I did - I actually think it looks pretty fun, we'll definitely take the boys to see it. Takes a bit getting used to Megatron's new voice, but maybe that will be his pre-evil Megatron one...what did you think about it?

@@heroicnonsense1 I think that it looks amazing megs voice I think it fits a young megatron but its ok Chris as young prime though he's good as young prime the cgi looks amazing and overall it looks good

@@juliegrine2875 agreed! Chris’ voice sounds pretty close and he is Orion in the end; as long as Megatron sounds deeper and darker later I won’t mind. Wonder if we’ll get the toys in the end which I’ll likely review - we’ll see how deep they go into making them and others…I’d like to see what the other characters could eventually look like!

@@heroicnonsense1 as far as I know the studio series transformers one optimus has already been up for pre order for a September release but of course it's already unavailable

@@juliegrine2875 Already? I did see it - but I think it is Voyager class, right? I am going to wait I think until we see them in stores and then decide...you? If I review, I'll probably make a separate series like I am doing for G1 - that reminds me, I have to add Trailbreaker to the Facebook page under a new heading!

@yamzyzf Yeah, I wouldn't be happy if mine were ever stolen back when I was a kid. I kept them pretty protected. I remember all the kids bringing them to school at the time but I kept mine nice and safe at home...
