No it doesn't work that way. Bodies adapt. Humans who do gymnastics also have their bodies adapt to stresses that would otherwise kill their joints. Same for monkeys.

It is extremely painful for them, but they can't tell us, can they? We are meant to bipedal. Monkeys are not meant to bipedal for long periods of time, otherwise, they would be doing this in the wild all the time, and they don't. Monkeys are not naturally designed to walk on two feet, it hurts them ... a lot. Their backs and hind legs simply aren't built to withstand the pressure of bipedalism. Regardless of this, monkey trainers tie macaques to 'leads' fashioned out of rope and holds them upright, forcing them to walk on their two hind legs for our entertainment. Some of the problems are reduced flexibility, increased risk of injury, bone mineral loss, constricted birth canals, and these are only a few, but the pain it causes them on a daily basis is the absolute worst.

They cannot survive back in the wild. As you said, they will die, either by starvation because they don’t know how to forage &/or they will be killed, mercilessly, by the head males of any troop they try to enter. They have no family. They are ‘a monkey without a troop.’ They need to be surrendered to a sanctuary for monkeys. There they will be taken in by people & monkeys who will teach them how to be a monkey. It’s possible they could live there for the rest of their life. Many of the monkeys there were pets to humans & trained for KZbin also. There are many sanctuaries all over the world

@@pwade6417 actually they can very well be potty trained to an extent. It just depends on how long the owner is willing to work with their pet monkey. My male mac will only do his business in an area that’s 2’ by 2’ that I made with a 50/50 mix of sand and cat litter. There’s an American owned pet monkey, that will use the toilet and will actually flush the toilet when it’s done!

@@pwade6417 As far as toilet training goes, I was not about to attempt training my pet monkey for a toilet. One bcuz we use it and two, bcuz it’s a pet monkey and not a human. As far as a diaper, mine hasn’t worn a diaper in months bcuz he’s trained to go in a certain area. On the floor of his monkey room I made a 2’ by 2’ box that has a 50/50 mixture of sand and cat litter. It’s at the bottom of his favorite faux tree. At first there was a few mistakes, but he hasn’t had a mistake in over 2 months. He’s 5 months now and I got him when he was 2.5 weeks old. I didn’t want to keep him in diapers and I definitely don’t keep him in clothes.
