I love seeing people react to this game for the first time. I remember the feeling this game gave me when I first started to play it on its F2P release years back. Most enjoyable and captivating game ever IMO, the storylines, the vast character customization, armor/weapon styles, it truly allows you to play as YOUR OWN personalized Star Wars fantasy character experience

Found this game around 4 years ago, I've just reached 1500 hours this month. Wich isn't much considering the time, but I also had a lot of other shit to do. It is by far the game I've spent more time on aside for LoL (wich I finally managed to stop playing, at least untill they start making characters I like again) and mh4U.

The day the game came out. Actually Experiencing and Realizing "This is a Fully Voiced MMO", Seeing the world that KotOR 1 and 2 built with hundreds of players and 'People' in locals. It was truly amazing and ground breaking. I wear my Founders Title, a Title only those who played in the first 6 months of the game's release has access to, proudly as the only title that I can wear on all my Characters. This is the Only MMO I keep coming back to, again and again, year after year, Expansion after Expansion. There is no better MMO, in my opinion. I wish more MMOs took after this game, and built fully voiced, cinematic, branching storyline MMOs, but Improved and better.

Chats are usually like that from what I can tell . It can be fun , but also extremely annoying because it can make experience worse . If he was actually doing a full playthrough,then fine whatever. But just trying it out for a few hours,chat should be more helpful

Swtor has a very unique niche of it basically being a deep story centered rpg built within a mmo that you have access to about 70% of completely f2p. Early on this wasn’t quite the case, the game was much harder, more grindy and most importantly costed money. Even when they first went f2p, the restrictions were much harsher than they are now, but over the years they’ve gotten much more lenient on f2p’s and made the game easier.

They made it too easy. Waaay to easy. I am okay with it when you are well developed OP Sith or Jedi or any non-Force sentiant class really. But as a beginer you really shouldn't have as easy time as level 50 character. Or level up so fast for that matter.

@@GameslordXYNah, there is nothing wrong with fast leveling just by doing mainly interesting story quests and a few quick side missions instead of mindless fetch quest grinding for hours just to gain 1 level and maybe unlock the next story quests after days of boring grind. They handled it well.

atleast the devs became nice or nicer. The ingame credits just up to 20.000 wasnt much. (200.000 not sure) Now fre player can have more. and other things too. But we level up way to fast. And the map got to complicated.

It was very satisfying when you managed to have a group that was so fully in sync with each other after planning out your steps, that you could breeze through a Heroic 4.

If you intend to keep playing Swtor, which I would love if you did you need to go into settings, usern inteferance then Turn on Conversation alignment. Btw your choices through dialogue will affect your alignment and it's easier to see the decisions alignment if you turn on conversation alignment

A pity that alligment has so little consequences then. Biggest difference I can remember is being denied a rank of Jedi Master to Jedi Knight if too dark(given that you are eventually post main story master anyways,makes it meaningless.) . Inquisitor can have different titles(meaningless really) and perhaps something similar about Consular. The only truly drastic alligment difference is ignored later,by which I mean Darth Imperious can use it's Jedi-like power just once and even then it's easily missable to the point some might be unaware of it still because developers later act as if it never existed.

This game is so much better than wow: jaw dropping story, housing, social, great pvp, excellent pve... It got review bombed when it came out because some people had rushed through the story and were disappointed by the endgame, but you have more than 11 years of content to go through now and they've made it so much better. Waiting for more videos from you on this game, awesome!!!

@@1990rable hard to say, currently not a lot of population but people are very social. Many long time players quit last year because the latest expansion was very shallow, but the developers released this week massive overhaul of the game engine which shows that they have a lot more planned. Population spikes tend to follow new content. Nonetheless the story is amazing and the game is perfectly enjoyable as a solo chill experience while interacting with players in cities.

in the latest expansion they changed the game a whole lot. originally. there were 8 class stories and 2 classes pr. story, but now they meshed everything into 2 types. force users (sith or jedi) or non-force user. so all you do now is choose what class story you want to play. you can play Imperial agent, which I recommend highly and you can pick all the non-force user starting classes. Personally, I would go Imperial agent and then choose Mercenary loadout which originally belonged to the Bounty Hunter. I like female imperial agent because of the voice actress :) many choices in the game matter yes, kill Tremel, not kill Tremel, only take his hand and lie to baras, both have different outcomes :) also remember that when you can choose not to kill an end boss on a planet for example. it gives light side points but it changes things later. for the warrior, the final boss on Nar Shaddasa is special that way, as is Overseer Tremel, both of them. while the game is Free to play, I always recommend to new players to subscribe 1 month then unsubscribe right away. after your sub is over your account is updated to preferred status, which is vastly superior to free to play. the missions (quests) in this game have extra bonus missions that you sometimes get when you pick them up or when you kill a mob while doing it. its very cool, it makes you want to kill mobs unlike in WoW where you skip them if you can. SWTOR released in December 2011 so I wanna say about a year after Cataclysm came out. you got 2 out of 3 correct in the jail. you should have hired the assassin, not kill her. The "goth girl" that your chat is talking about is the companion you get after the end of Chapter 1. if you are dark side evil, she turns into a complete murdering psycho, she's very cool. if you are light side she stays a Jedi. You can romance the dark side version, not the light side one. I like Jaesa alot, as I said, she's a complete psycho. Vette is the light side romantic option. lol @ your guild's name hahaha! As you can see, your conversations with NPCs affect how your companion sees you. they approve or disapprove accordingly. Vette for example likes funny replies and hates violence, she is a light side character, she is very fun though. Dark Jaesa, who is your oter romance option is a dark side character, she loves violence and murder. she is the polar opposite of Vette. 2:35:40 actually she doesn't, if you read carefully during that cutscene it says "Vette disapproves" as you cut the slave down. she comments on your behaviour, she doesn't approve at all. Jaesa would though.

To break down : Marauder is legit the best dps, besides maybe assassin for lightsaber wielders. And no, I don't care. Hatred and Anni are objectively the most fun classes. For mara it's a duel wielding DPS machine with 3 forms. 1 : Burst dps, jumper. Using charges to do major burst damage. 2: carnage (which is just dps, but its kinda shite right now) and anni the most interesting. A dot melee spec. Almost no burst, but some of the HIGHEST substained and consistent damage in the entire game. You will see yourself pulling top numbers. It's a hard class, as much as I love mara bad for a new player. Anni is the most complicated besides hatred in terms of builds. Asassin: A mix of melee and range, and a stealther. Very good class, deception is solid, but hatred is where it shines, and it can also be a tank. Think a mix of rogue and warrior, with a wee bit of warlock for good measure. Juggernaught : tank/ dps, very uninnteresting class. Bog standard warrior basically. Sorc : Caster, healer/dps, can be pretty fun. GCD can be reduced by getting higher alacrity, one of the stats. MAstery + power are the equals to attack or spell power. (Both can be for melee, range, and casting. So its universal.). Crit is obviously crit. So to reduce your GCD you aim for the soft cap of alacrity through augments (enchants), and gear items with that stat. And each class has their own class mechs.

I played this game at day 1. It is a GOOD mmo and oozes Star Wars through and through. If they hadn't messed up the endgame in the beginning it would have actually rivalled WoW.

Great game, drowned out by the next gens & quick fire mentality that appeared after it. Used to take weeks/months to level 1 character to max & was very enjoyable with it (until your 12th char). Combat used to be complex but very good - its changed since i last played it. Its free version has 100's of hours but is limited with storage & other QoL things. i subbed after 6 months or so & played for years. Very good game, the 1st mmo i played & it had a great community back then. It is story driven and has 8 versions of it. The endgame is good & has various levels of difficulty. it also has pvp battlegrounds - but if you can encourage the server to fight it can be open world pvp... I clicked the free d/l when i couldnt find anything good to buy - the game kept me for 6 years. It still has good server counts & is worth a try

I rate WOW and SWTOR as equals. I could always leave and return for each of them when a new DLC came out. Played them both for a decade or more. In fact I just lvl'd ,y 25th character in SWTOR a few years ago. I attained Living Legend status and have done it all. Id go back but Ive played it all multiple times. I have 3 maxed out Sith Inquisitors. Everytime I dealt with Darth Baras I imagined him as Darth Cartman.

While watching this, I remembered my first times. It used to be more fun. The excitement of discovering new things, following all the conversations and playing our part. All the combat techniques and new animations we saw were really nice. Now it's all about missions and collecting tokens. Pvp needs to become more attractive because raid and FP have no excitement. Since we already know the whole story, the stories do not have the old excitement. I have completed all the classes and stories. Of course, there are still stories for those who haven't completed it.

the only way to have a lightsaber at lvl 1 i know of in this game is to unlock one in your collection, you can then summon one to your inventory from there...

The best advice I can give a new player is this... Once you gain control of your character, hit escape and goto preferences and edit your key binds and examine controls. Then you will see a +on your hot bar. Click it and edit you UI to your liking. And if you have an honest question, ask chat. Yes, you will get trolls and jokers, but most players will be more than happy to help. Next advice is it's ok to make dozens of characters to find what you like...having said that, IA Snipers FTW.

If you like the endgame in wow. youll like the endgame in swtor. it is a lot the same. they do a great job with internesting boss mechanics and having specific roles for your team. its really great. I'd say you're right that most people come to this game for the story but the endgame is good too

Waiting for the swtor sunday's! This was great. Especially since the games story gets better and better. I'm currently not playing swtor but damn its a great watch. Game is actually good, only missing some difficulty in the "dungeons" that's what made me and my group stop playing tbh. If there would be more challenging small group content while leveling it would be one of the greatest mmorpgs. (and no for all the people who want to comment, "oPtIoNaL" difficulty is not cutting it!)

it's like 8 great rpgs contained within one mid at best mmo (maybe 9 I'd count all the xpacs as one because RotHC and SoR...suck, and the others are all kinda one story minus some of the newer stuff thats coming out at a snails pace) I was so insanely hyped when this game was announced I remember I had a guild for it prelaunch on the forums and I'd find every crumb of news coming out, and the feeling when it first came out into beta and playing the stories was incredible. It's funny I have the "founder" title which always felt like such a lame one but now that I think of it the game is so old its kind of neat and rare these days I suppose But unfortunately it just has many issues as an mmo, one of the biggest for me being the engine. All these years later, despite its graphics being meh and my pc being pretty good, I still dont get a consistent 60fps in 8v8 bgs which is kind of insane to me, and as a pvper unfortunately makes the game unsustainable as a main game, which is a shame because I enjoy the pvp more than I do classic or modern wow's pvp (it doesnt hold a candle to mop or wod pvp but thats not really an option atm sadly). BUT it is something I always come back to replay some of the stories from time to time and even do a little of the low fps pvp. The pve I dont have a ton of experience with, from what I know its not bad (though raids with many people can have those same fps problems due to the engine being horrid for handling multiple people using abilities) there just isnt really any new pve content like, ever so once you've done it all and got your gear it gets old fast The cinematics for this game are up there with blizzard for some of the best though Edit: Also just googled "goth girl slave outfit", just out of curiosity for what guzu saw ofc no other reason (weird how all the links were purple though I think my gfx card is bugging?) and funny enough swtor was actually one of the first image results lmao.
