WOW! Roccat Vulcan 2 Max Gaming Keyboard Review

If you want a TKL I found the Vulcan TKL Pro pretty much perfect. I imagine the Roccat Vulcan 2 Max switches are just as good! Roccat produce really good keyboards.

Hmmm 🤔 while do like the aesthetics…….. to have low profile ABS keycaps on such a keyboard imo, is a cheap out, and to not have low profile switches to match the low profile keycaps was the wrong move completely!🤯🤦‍♂🤦🤦‍♀ Either got high or low with keycaps and switches being the same, not mix n’ match them. 2x USB plug in usb ports for rgb is pointless imo …… at least offer 2x usb 2.0 ports pass-through…. Which could be used for wireless dongles for your mouse and headphones 🥰🤩👍💪.

I agree the keycaps could be of higher quality, but they're low profile to enhance the lighting. And the switches are full size to maintain compatibility with full size caps so you're not stuck with these custom ones if you don't like them. I also agree about the dual USB... I would have loved a pass-thru port!

Two usbs just to power a keyboard?? Even for Apex Pro one usb is enough and it has rgb, adjustable switches and an OLED screen...

It can run off one, but the second is there to make sure you don't run into problems if your USB port isn't pumping out enough power.

yeah I hear you on that. I was using it with my laptop for a bit and even though I have a high-end laptop, the double USB for the keyboard plus the USB dongle for my wireless mouse used up all the ports.

Roccat said that if you Use it on USB 3.0 you only need 1 Cable pluged in. So the 2 Plug Solution is only for the USB 2.0 ports.

Quite a few high end keyboards are using 2 usbs…not uncommon. My k100 does the same.

I got one as a gift, worst keyboard I have ever tried to use. The transparent sides of the keys are the worst idea I have ever seen . No matter what angle you look at it you have 108 flashlights beaming in your eyes even when you have it on the dimmest setting. Turning off the lights isn't a good option either because the labels on the keys are next to invisible when not lit. Roccat support is of no help at all either, it's their design philosophy to blind you and make the most distracting peripheral possible. The low profile is a feature for it's own sake, because it does nothing for comfort or usability. I propped it up another half centimeter with a strip of cardboard to get any resemblance of comfort. Media keys are a must have for me on any keyboard and this one is a joke. The mute key is hard to press, instead of a quick tap you need a very deliberate push down with multiple fingers. There is also no indicator weather you are muted or not. Epic fail! Most secondary function key labels are not lit either, the indicator is a flash light under the key not the label. As mentioned before the labels are so faint, small and hard to see if your workflow involves 2ndary key functions you are mostly out of luck. Shift, tab and cap lock use hieroglyphs instead of labels. I hate that, but I guess that's a personal preference. Changing the key caps isn't a good option either. I tried 2 different sets. They keyboard becomes clunky and loud and you lose pretty much all basic functionality because most of it depends on the blinding flash lights under the keys instead of the keys themselves. Last, but not least for me is the fact that all of this requires another program you have to sign your rights and privacy away to install and run on your computer. I hope they payed you well for this review.

The keycaps are horrible. As well as the stabilisators which make the keyboard sound horrible. I have a Roccat Vulcan 121 Aimo too and really like the optic but I'm going to build a keyboard on my own because it feels and sounds way better

Hey, what is bad with the keycaps?, and does the keyboard sound loud as I always like linear switches as I don't like sounds form the keyboard
