Nope, wrong. Of all the Diaspora....we always saw the Jamaicans as the closest thing to us as Americams. Even as Israelites, we know we are the Tribe of Judah and the Jamaicans; the Tribe of Benjamin. And those two tribes are closets as brothers. Its the misperceptions by the Jamaicans that thought we didnt like them or something. And whem the Jamaicans aligned themselves with the African immigrants against us, we got confused. That really kinda hurt because Blk Americans and Jamaicans are alot alike. Same build, same appeal and our history have alot of Jamaican Heroes like Booker T. Washington. So, it was odd to see Jamaican align themselves with Africans whom sold us out to Slavery. We have the same slave ancestors as well. Jamaica is like a little brother to us.

So, this is part of the problem. It’s always about what Jamaicans have supposedly done for Black Americans, but never the other way around. Have Black people worked together at times, yes. Have all Black people worked together, absolutely not. Marcus Garvey was not our first civil rights leader. Do not disrespect the many abolitionists and activists that existed long before anyone knew who he was. Our fight for civil rights began before slavery ended. Regarding Belafonte, yes he contributed to our fight for civil rights, but so did many more Black American celebrities..& regular ordinary people. Understand, that Belafonte and other Caribbean celebrities needed Black American support. So, our communities worked hand and hand. You needn’t leave that part out.
