Personally, questing through Outland is maybe the best experience I had while playing WoW for years. I loved the scenery and the overall design of the whole continent, the mountains, the forests, the absolutely amazing colors each zone had (except Shadowmoon Valley), the sky.. The fact that this expansion gives the players the opportunity to go back there but this time with even more well polished content, revamps that make the previously kinda depressing zones (Shadowmoon Valley) seem amazing. This is definitely a step towards the right direction and I hope that they will not mess everything up. P.S Personally, I didn't like the cataclysm idea because of my nostalgia for the zones that I loved while leveling up my Tauren warrior :P. Instead, this time outland is still there for people to experience + a totally revamped version of it : Draenor! Faith in BLIZZARD!

Just compare the quality of art on the Warlords of Dreanor website with the Cataclysm website ( you can find it on the blizzard site under "Games" ) You can clearly see a gigantic difference in quality and skill. I am sure that those skilled guys are working on Project Titan which will most likely be World of Starcraft! Cant wait!

I would say it's a good idea to have that if you want to see the new player models and world designs at their fullest, but as they said, players will probably have the ability to opt out of seeing the newer player models. I'm hoping it'll be an actual setting in-game that allows you to "Turn Off Updated Models" ff you have to.

Not to be nit-picky but something I noticed was that the first forum question asked about "robes" and they answered it with "cloak" models. I'm not saying they were doing a red herring, but maybe they misheard it, I personally would LOVE more complex robe models and to clarify, I mean cloth chest pieces. Currently they are very, very boring. It's a simple robe that extends down to your feet. No variation in length or size and no holes or tears or anything interesting like that. I would like to see the alpha usage on cloth armor pieces, especially the chest piece, and maybe even add animations to the robes so that they flow when you cast like cloaks. If you agree, upvote this so Blizzard sees it and maybe does something with it!

Well, makes you wonder if they will redo those at some point. They are game rendered so if it was played smart and is scripted and automatic, perhaps they could be re-made with minimum effort... If not they will be a reminder to everyone of how long the game used the old models.

The new female forsaken model is flawless so far. I could kiss and hug the art department, those guys and ladies will never cease to amaze me. Buuuut sadly(?) this preview reaally sets the bar for how I imagine the night elves. Possibly too high..but I know that no matter what, I won't be disappointed. I'm happy that they decided against the mongrel Horde, because the idea seems quite out of character for Garros, even if the idea of revamping and making the goofier races more badass and grim looking makes me squee with joy (the trogg and the gnoll art looks SO BRUTAL!) I'm still extremely stoked for the Garrisons, but at the same time I'm a bit hesitant. It's such a big area for a single player, that I feel it would have been more fitting (size wise) for a Guild Garrison. I fear that the garrisons will quickly become dull due to their size, but only time will tell. In regards to the resources to build the garrisons, I would totally be on board with a thing a la Battlefield Barrens, as long as they don't clutter my bags too much :P Thank you so much, guys. Sad that there wasn't any class questions or a reveal of a new hunter pet(hint hint), but I am a very, very happy fangirl right now.

The Orc in the Kodo Beast? Those guys don't slouch. Search for orc fanart, if you want. Those boys and girls don't slouch. And In-game example? The female Orc model? She doesn't slouch. She stands proud and tall, shoulders behind, chest outside.

One thing they could do for the garrison to make it guild like is make it a zone type.. have a little area in the middle with every ones own garrison but all connected guild wise and have like a taxi or tp to get to other places if the guild is so big. Also.. what are you supposed to do with the insta-90 on a new realm.. you can't dungeon, or bg (be a horrible experience).. you would have to quest which would destroy the purpose of the 90.. because you would need to "level" off of like lvl 80 poeple to gear to be able to kill mobs your level.

My biggest question is about how we're getting to Draenor.. Obviously we're going back in time some how.. Ok.. Kool.. We're likely going through the Dark Portal.. What will this change for traveling between the two planets, and the Dark portal in general.

The dark portal will lead to the WoD timeline. There will be a different way to get to outlands (perhaps caverns of time related).

Kairoz from the Timeless Isle links the past and present with his time magic, and that turns the Dark Portal red.

Technically it's not 'time travel'. It's reality travel. The only character that should have time traveled is Garrosh. And then, because he changed things so drastically, there will be a link from old Draenor to current Azeroth. So the Dark Portal should only work as a 'tunnel'/tear/whatever to link the two realities together. Because, obviously, Outlands itself will still exist as well. So yeah. Parallel Universe/Quantum Reality theory. 8| Play Bioshock Infinite or read into it. It will make more sense. But honestly there shouldn't be any reason why we would literally be traveling back in time, and if we were that would require the Caverns of Time or Bronze Flight involvement of some sort. And that wouldn't make sense, because the Bronze Flight has been against actually TAMPERING with things for ages. Sure you can go to the past in their portals, but you can only experience the actual past. You can't change anything about it. That's what the Infinite Dragon Flight usually does, and the players in WoW oppose the Infinite Dragon Flight. B| Because tampering with the past as a whole (Killing Arthas or not helping Thrall escape or what have you) would completely change the future. In drastic ways.

I get that they want us going through the dark portal (with Garrosh fucking it up, and it being all red and such..) but having us go back to Outlands through CoT makes no sense.. It's still around in our time/reality, and it isn't changed in any way.. The other reality would be messed up, not ours. And going to Northrend through CoT makes even less sense.. We just take boats/zeppelins to go to Northrend. It's not being messed with by anything, so there's no need to change the way we get there. And if there was, we wouldn't be going back in time to get there.

I think instead of the "opt in" or whatever it should just be a new setting in the graphics a lot like how they left in the old water model when they introduced the new in game water. Just in case the new models are too heavy for some computers to handle that can be adjusted individually.

One good way to improve graphics is DX11 tesselation. You can get better models as long as your computer can bear the graphic load, or you can disable it, having a more basic look but suitable for older computers.
