I can't wait for my Vx5! It looks great. Steve Herchbach of Detector Prospector felt compelled to write about his 2nd target the first time he tested a Vx9 last week. He found the oldest coin he has found in America at a gone over park in mineralized soil! That with a lady in England made a short video of her postage size yard where she found a deep coin that a lot of detectors missed.

I’ll go further and say the criticism will probably help Garrett improve on the initial shortfalls in the specs of their top tier VX9 so many have pointed out.

Leap of faith… And how much will you pay with accessories added? Trying to learn more about the Vortex, by these testor videos never show the Vortex finding a target, just a cut to the open plug and pinpointer in the hole… Useless really for reviewing the detector.

@@Garrett_metaldetectors It woud be helpful to allow your You-Tube presenters to show the screen & hear the tone response over targets. Why not share that? A glimpse of the detector from a far sitting on the ground and the video cutting to a view of an open plug with a pinpointer scanning a hole does nothing to present the detector itself.

I know, hate comes from the top and feeds down, Garrett arent really bothered about what machine can beat what, they just want to supply the people with the best product they can, probably a lot are a bit nervous that their good old nox might not be so good anymore ;-)

@@DiggerDawn So true Dawn. Here in Western NY Minelab is king. I meet so many people when I detect, 7 out of 10 are Minelab users. They won't even touch a Garrett let alone swing one. Its funny how their attitude changes when I show them all of the coins and jewelry I have recovered with my Garrett Apex and my AT Pro. I personally don't care what anyone chooses to use. I don't like the brand bashing that goes on. Garrett and it's people are a class act and I'm glad that they are not bothered by the haters.

@@bobkurmis5347 I have found gold rings, numerous coins, a half gold sovereign and loads of other stuff with my Quest Q30 i purchased back when they first came out around 2019/20 after watching tons of videos and researching, but it's a hobby and haven't been detecting here in Uk for about 3yrs now but the reason i never purchased a Garrett back then was because they looked like a shitty wee toy a kid would play with. They got so much stick for this and rightly so. Paid about £300 for my quest and it's an unbelievable bit of kit but i would never pay anymore for a detector, certainly not £699 for this Garrett shown here. Each to their own at the end of the day but you won't find anything more with a detector that costs £400 more than my 5yr old Quest will.

Garrett is stuck in the 90s while Nokta and Minelab are destroying the competition. The Nokta Triple score is lightyears ahead of the Vortex and the Minelab xterra elite is in another galaxy.

Agreed. This new detector seems to be buried in secrecy. You would think after the official media launch they would actually show the machine in ful use, showing VDI, allowing tones to be heard, etc.. It doesn’t make any sense to keep a cloak of secrecy over it if they actualy want people to consider buying one.

Get a nokta legend. Apex feels like a toy compared to it. Not to mention the Apexs' lack of iron bias, recovery speed and very chatty nature, oh and the lack of software updates to fix such problems. Seems like garret just left apex users in the dust.
