The consistency of Champions League referees compared to some of the chaotic decisions in the EPL is striking. The overly strict officiating in the Premier League, with unnecessary yellow cards leading to red, does disrupt the flow of the game, and hopefully, English referees can take some cues from the way Champions League matches are handled. As for Arsenal, it was fantastic to see Merino get some minutes as well, showing depth in the squad. The team is on a roll, and it's great to be a Gooner! Looking forward to the next match. Just a thing on squad depth. It’s not sustainable having 11 quality players to cover 11 first starters. They won’t all get game time. The way arteta is playing this is to have 6 quality players that can all play 2/3 different positions. Thus they are more likely to get game time. It’s a great way to manage a team. Nwaneri is another creative midfielder but he needs to be patient. Partey, RIce, Trossard and Havertz are very good but not creative midfielders. But i actually believe Timber should regularly play interchangebly at any of the 4 defense positions to give rest to the one who needs most, and to get adapted when needed,just like Trossard is doing for the attack. He is the only one i can see fitting in for Saliba without a great drop off, so we can't afford to lose him if Saliba gets injured. And right now i can't left Trossard out of the team.
