More likely, it was probably due to the show having a low budget at the time. Season 1 and 2 both had the hazy look to them despite the fact that Season 2 has the current set layout yet it also had the curtain at the judges' panel up until Season 4.

And for everyone commenting about how her looks are all the same sihlouette, while asking the contestants to bring a variety of looks... Let me remind you thet this queen has been in the biz for so many years and have worn pretty much everything, she ain't got nothing to prove, yet she brings it everytime! While the queens on the show on the other hand, are competing and have to give it their all... Plus the sihlouette may be similar but each one has a different vibe and theme!
