The "set of colors to create an artwork" question could either be scheme or palette. Among traditional painters, 'palette' is pretty normal to use because we literally set out the chosen pigments on our palette. We rarely use 'scheme' in that context.

I was quite shocked to the question about black is the absence of color. White is every color. Iike, yes. If you're talking about physics and light in terms of different wavelengths. But within art and color theory... Black is every damn color mixed together and white is no color lol.

In colour theory brown is the tertiary colour (all primaries or secondaries together). White & black are not colours but instead are used to create tones (shades & tints). This often leads to the term 'toners' for black & white. The reason they are 'not colours' is because they cannot be created by using the primary colours. This is why it's more sensible to use the scientific terminologies for most things. Now printing, that's a whole different ball game as well!

The socio-emotional side is pseudoscience at best (e.g. will a blue room stop you feeling hunger? [the answer is no]) & is based a lot on social engineering & conjecture. There is no such thing as Primary, Secondary or Tertiary colours in science as they are just different wavelengths within visible part of the electromagnetic spectrum. White is all of the visible spectrum together, or the reflection of all wavelengths, & black is the absorption of all wavelengths with none being reflected in a perfect black body.

6:04 Fact check: not at all times black is the absence of color. It actually depends if it's the color of dyes or light. Black is the absence of color in light but for dyes it is the mixture of all the colors. So I guess the way the question was quite unspecified was the reason why both of them got confused.

There is a difference between blending pigments and how light creates/interacts with colour. So, blending every primary pigment together will result in a dark “black” colour - not white. However, there is no such thing as a true “black” pigment - which explains why when you bleach black clothing it is either brown or blue.

Red yellow and Blue arent primary colors, at least together. Primary colors of light are Red Blue and Green (like in your TV) Primary colors of pigment are Magenta Yellow and Cyan (like in your printer).
