When *you* are the *only* common denominator in every match you play (save for platoons/divisions) it reflects on the player to do something. Awesome epic guys and WG both independently came to the conclusion in WoT, if you do *nothing* press not a single key, every single match (solo), on average your Winrate will be 41% Meaning people with sub 40% WR sabotage their team, whether intentionally or not, not all of them are griefers. Similar number shared by WG on WoWS.

@@GrasshopperKelly I don’t even care about winrate anymore, nor do I judge people on it. In WoWs I have around a 35% winrate. Not because I’m bad, I average about 120k on most of my t8-10 ships and usually place top 4 of the team. However, I still get shamed for my winrate and told that I’ll be the reason my team loses because people can’t accept that in a team game, no one person can be reasonably blamed for a loss. Granted there are exceptions to this if a person was afk or hid in a corner of the map the whole match, but the previous statement still stands in that either the whole team wins or the whole team loses regardless of player skill. Especially since blowouts are rampant in WoWs and are the reason for me losing around 7 out of every 10 games I play.

@@davidpotts7116 I didn't say you needed to be concerned about your own WR. But you should expect to be judged, and don't complain when it happens. It's reality. I'm also very skeptical you have a 35% WR, yet do 120k average. Unless your a sub 1% statistical anomaly. Saying player skill has nothing to do with it is also being oblivious. Either a player attempts to win, or they don't. Many players see a loosing match, and either rage quite, give up trying, and/or start raging in chat about it instead of continuing to play the game. I used to have a 42.3% WR in 2012 on WoT. I'm very proud to say that's 49.06% today not because I think that's good, but because I know I had to earn that, and certainly thank the friend who've helped, me along the way. I've pushed my WoWS Win rate from 48~% to 52.6% over the last 3 years. Because I started caring about what I do in matches. Although I'll fully admit I give up regularly when facing subs. I don't play WoWS as often either anymore. You are correct, losses are *never* the result of one particular player, only exception is ranked or brawl. Where matches are not won, but matches are lost. Someone or people make mistakes and it gives the other team the upper hand. In random battles, the average player with a 50% WR has the power to push 1/7 matches, to the effect of generating a win. That's from QB's research. There are people who of course do enough to effect more than 1/7. There are people who complain about doing 300k in a match and loosing. That's one match, and the first Question I ask is how many people on the enemy team did the same. Maybe the above gives you a little encouragement to want to improve. Because if you're just clicking battle for the sake of clicking a button why bother? I was at that stage once, and 99% of games were boring af to me. I was depressed enough to give up on anything and everything that required effort.

@@GrasshopperKelly considering all 8 games I’ve played today (all t8-10 mind you) have been losses, I can assure you I am among those anomalies and it drives me bat-shit insane. All of these matches had at least 5 of the enemy alive and relatively healthy by the end of it. The worst one was with me almost getting a Kraken in my GK and two other kills being picked up by one teammate each. That match was a total team wipe with me being the last one alive cuz I don’t play battleship like a 2 year old playing crash derby. Also, I wasn’t saying that player skill never factors into it. I participate in storm league battles with my clan. I’d be beyond the level of an enormous hypocrite if that’s what I was trying to say. But it’s kinda hard to keep your chin up about player skill determining the outcome when there’s one person every t9-11 battle with the stat monitor up saying we’re all trash and we have no chance of winning. They then proceed to give up, and it has a huge domino effect on the rest of the team, especially if they’re playing a dd or cv. That’s just how that range of matches go nowadays. Like I legit had a perfectly average 50% winrate before I started playing t8-10 matches. That’s when I dropped off because near every game turns into a blowout, whether that be because of player morale or because of the uptier-favoring mm being dogshit - probably a combination of both. Edit: make that 9 battles and 9 losses. The most recent match - Moskva, arms race, total team wipe with an afk Harugumo. 106k damage, 10 enemies still alive.

@@GrasshopperKelly Holy hell man, you've made some HUGE leaps in logic here. One, I never said anything about the validity of using stats to determine how good a player is. And then from there you've assumed I think it's bad. And THEN you've assumed I'm a shit player because of it. Both of those are wrong. I had decent stats when I played (58/59% solo, 62/63% in divs I think?) but it's been a number of years since I've played so who cares. And I COMPLETELY agree that stats are the one and only way to know how good a player is. Your comparison is garbage because in WoWS over time, the good teams and the bad teams all average out, and the only consistent factor is whoever is sitting at the keybaord. But there are numerous life circumstances outside a person's direct control that affect credit scores, with the #1 debt being medical debt, which so often is completely unexpected. Not to mention once you have a bad credit score, there are numerous systems in our society that make it more difficult to improve your credit score. Yes there are things you can TRY to do to improve it, but life isn't fair, and is actually most unfair to people who start off disadvantaged.

People who are upset about something tend to be so because it negatively effects them. So that assumption was you didn't like your stats being comparable to a credit score. I had a poor credit score, I was depressed enough my family had to check my medication every day in secret, to check if I was taking it. I wasn't working very hard, in school, or work. All self inflicted problems. Even my depression was self inflicted, ignorant if some people around me treated me poorly. That's all less than a decade ago, I'm still not a great human being, I'm still struggling through college, but at least I'm not failing repeatedly. My credit score is also considered as "good" by Bank of Ireland. Enough that they're happy to give a mortgage. I've spent nights in shelter with others who failed payments. One I'm still friends with. His bank wouldn't even let him open a credit account until 2019, he lost his house from the 2008 crash. He has a mortgage at the moment, and every month, he pays it on the day. He was worried in 2021, his savings were getting low, he refused to ask someone for help, but he kept paying the bare minimum each month, even though that put him behind. The Bank told him "This is fine, you carry on as you need". He's currently ahead on his payments, because that's where he wants to be. Of Course life isn't fair, very little in it is. I could whinge and cry about it, protest even, and ask for free housing. Or I can work, and put myself where I want to be. That's *very* comparable to myself pushing my garbage, embarrassing and shameful WoT WR from 42% in 2012 to 49% today. 49% isn't acceptable for me either, I'm not "happy" with it, but it's another step on the way. My account started off "disadvantaged" I was 14 and didn't know what the f*** I was doing. There's some senator in the US who was on the news here the other day, crying about how he couldn't get a place to stay in Washington. Because his credit score was bad. That's called poor management of money (I should know, I was a spoilt s*** too and I also threw away my money). God help his constituents because my experience of politicians in Ireland with s*** monetary skills is they don't do well in government either. I will say though, I respect, and am impressed with your stats

On the Stats comment... I am an average potato myself, but when recruiting for my clan I absolutely recruit almost exclusively based on stats... it is the only way to avoid pissing off my clan mates with dud recruits who will let them down in divisions and clan battles.
