I wrote President Ford back in 1974 when I was 10 years old and got a response back from the White Golden Retriever telling me about the his life with the President and an autographed picture with his paw print. In my letter I asked the President if he could explain why he pardoned Nixon, of course even at ten I knew he had been asked this many times before, but I thought I'd give it a shot. My mother had no idea that I had done it and was blown away when the letter arrived from the White House addressed to me.
