When I was a young truck mechanic in lancashire 50 odd years ago, boss used to send me to a very old man who stripped and repaired / refurbished old batteries just like this mans doing here, much cheaper to refurbish a big truck battery than buy new….the old mans battery charger was a huge glass carboy with leads connected to various connections on it and a large pool of mercury in the bottom, that always had a bright blue continuous spark running randomly across its surface, all turn of the century tackle but it all worked perfectly and his repairs were always top quality!
