So, like, I did it all in 3 days wtf. Anyway, I really wanted this project to be something else. And I kinda ended up with a short film. That was definitely an experience. I started making the music after playing some Fez, which for sure inspired me a bit in harmony department. Anyway, thank you all for your interest! Oh, yeah, I also wanted to set up my own Patreon, cause those things take time unfortunately and I'm not planning on losing my job (yet). So if you'd like to support me, I'd be extremely happy! Thank you all

Imagine the morning that a Mantelope awakens and sings her song to the sky. Only for no one to respond. Again and again she hums her tune into the air, begging, _pleading_ for a response, but none comes. She is the last sentient Mantelope, and spends her final days screaming in beautiful chords to the sky, cursing all that has made her and her people this way.

They sing the sings, maybe as mating calls, as signals for incoming predators, as signals for the rputes that should be taken by the herd or even as mournings for their dead. The Mantelopes will still retain the knowledge of their ancestors that had relevance to their environment, and make songs about them. Songs for entertainment, songs for mourning, songs for an oncoming storm brewing on the horizon, while some songs would have lost their meaning over time, they have also gained new ones according to the context of their living conditions.

"The mantalopes were bred to be singers and memory retainers for the Qu, so they had fully human minds. They understood the world around them, but in the bodies of grazing herd animals they were powerless to change anything. So for centuries, mournful herds roamed the plains, singing songs of separation and loss. They created whole religions and oral traditions around their grief and frustration until gradually, mercifully, their agony faded. Because, evolutionarily, a stupid, simple-minded mantelope survives as well or better than a conscious, sad mantelope. So within a hundred-thousand years, this melancholy world fell silent. Human minds aren't sacred to evolution, and soon, only animals remained"

@@iMajoraGaming It's not so much nihilism in of itself, but it appeals to that sensibility. The degradation of sentience is one element, as the once-complex minds of the mantelopes fall to practically nothing. The reasons why it happens is due to unfeeling, amoral forces (natural selection/evolution) that inextricably change the mantelopes' existence into something that most humans nowadays would consider meaningless.

You can see the ruins from the Qu’s invasion: the high pillars are probably probably the air defense used against the Qu’s spacecraft, the larger ruin is probably a warship that belonged to the Qu or the Star People. The stone with the Star People and the one with the Mantelope symbols on them are probably a work by the mantelopes, that show us they can use basic tools but no further than that, and they didnt forgot their heritage. The Qu statue is probably a Qu’s work, after they have won the war. The statue is covered by feces from the mantelops, that symbolizes their pure hate for what the Qu has done to them. The shackles near the statue were placed by the mantelops, symbolizes their prison type of body they are locked, within it,because of the Qu’s work.

The Mantelopes. A name befitting of who they are. Men trapped in the imbalanced bodies of a grazing herd animal. They sway from side to side, not completely balanced in their new form. As they gather together over the plains and groves of their planet, a landscape dotted with art, relics, and artifacts of the past, they sing as they would have when they were fully man. Their voices sing of sorrow and pain for what they had become, a longing to return to the life they once lived with the full knowledge that such a life is impossible to obtain now. Yet still they sing, for in doing so, they reconnect once more with the humans they used to be.

The mantelopes probably had one of the saddest fates out of all of them, and their song shows the sorrow they felt. The only problem with this is that there really wouldn't be a way to fit the whole story into a movie runtime. Like maybe you could focus on a single event, but you wouldn't get the whole picture. The only way I see an adaptation working is as a sort of mock-umentary that spans multiple episodes, since the story is already written from the POV of a historian anyways.

In that show humans get mutated by a nuclear bomb but they don't even resemble humans after their mutation, but in All Tomorrows you can definitely tell just by the design that these things were humans at some point (also how fitting that the abbreviation for both Adventure Time and All Tomorrows is AT lmao)

I think one of the reasons why I watched Adventure Time even though it's a cartoon show is because I lament the fact that almost all the creatures were certainly used to be humans but still couldn't pity them at the same time because they enjoy the times of their lives. The structures in the background, rotting away and becoming a part of the terrain is truly terrifying. It’s depressing, like, imagine having all your efforts be for naught when you’ve made it so far as a collective species. You’ve terraformed worlds, formed colonies, and then made galactic-scale weapons of war to protect your world and species, only to be swiftly defeated without a fair fight. Unable to defend yourself, you, your defendants and everything around you is manipulated by how these galactic nomads see fit and you’re unable to do anything about it. Hopeless, and to make it worse, these monsters forced your lineage to remember these horrific tales for the sick amusement of the gods. Truly a terrifying, but it’s amazing how all of this can be captured from the video alone. That’s my two cents on it. It looks phenomenal!

I would like to call these the Tall-Talers, avian like creatures who adopted the mantelopes language and whose culture centered around telling epic (tho slightly butchered) tales of tragedy and nihilism, about a civilization that they themselves, don't believe to actually exist. You're the only person I know who makes really good 3D all tomorrows animations. I especially love the unique sounds you make and how fitting they are with the species. They always blow my mind so when I saw this was about the mantalopes I knew it was going to be damn near impossible for any single person to out do it. But this was the first one to blow me away with the animation as the sound did. Not only was I not expecting how long it was going to be, but also how open and large everything was. The massive hills, towering structures, and even the clouds were absurdly impressive and the lighting somehow made this animation even better. I've always been a sucker for lighting, and the way it passes through a mantalope's hair and illuminates their obviously human skin looks absolutely incredible, as well as how the light interacts with everything else. The clouds with the open fields and mysterious skyscrapers was already impressive enough, but the way the light was just behind the clouds and how it gave everything a soft glow was phenomenal. I'm also a sucker for settings exactly like this so at this point I have already cumded my pants, but the way you presented them as still human was the butter on the croissant

At some point they are no longer human. Enough genetic deviation has happened for them to be their own species. I would guarantee they have a unique number of chromosomes and can't breed with actual humans.

I hear the sound escaping as an echo Sloping off the ceiling at an angle When the voices blend they sound like angels But when I lift my voice up now to reach them The range is too high way up in heaven So I hold my tongue, forget the song grit my hooves, start walking off And try to just keep moving on With my broken heart and my absent god And I have no faith but it's all I want To be loved And believe In my soul, in my soul

The Mantelopes are quite beautiful inside and out and sing like angels. I wish there was some way that they could've been helped to retain their intelligence and form a new civilization as well as give them a set of limbs with hands to manipulate the world around them or genetically alter them into having a Humanoid form. Damn the Qu for making these gentle beings suffer horribly!

I begin to slowly realize how much I actually relate to the Mantelopes, having all that knowledge and potential yet unable to actually utilize it. That's what I have observed on myself, having all the necessary skills and knowledge I need, yet still can't use them to their full potential. But atleast I'm fortunate enough to have this body and the tools I need, something that a Mantelope would never have so atleast I could have a better chance at actually succeeding. I know this sounds stupid but i actually find them relatable.

Thi is by far, the most beautiful video you've made so far, i mean there isn't really a comparison seeing that the majority don't pass the 30 seconds, but still. Awesome work and the parts with the human shadow and the eye are just... Painfully and depressingly good. The only "bad" thing I have to say is that I'm not sure how accurate the eyes are, in the ilustration I'm certain it was a normal human eye (though your version makes more sense in an evolutionary way), but it's overshadowed by the good things in this animation.

That shot with the human eye as they reminisced their former human selves, and the human shadow at the end of the video reminding us of the person trapped within made me bawl. I feel so bad for the fictional funky human-horses. May they rest in peace and fuck the Qu.

This short film was beautiful! Your work so far in the All Tomorrows series you've been doing has been amazing and this piece just adds to the collection. The set dressings and camera work of this one also is probably my favorite so far- please keep doing what your doing, your work is something that you should be extremely proud of. I genuinely hope the author has or will see your work since I know they're on KZbin.

I love every part of this. At the end feels like the metaphor of how their music slowly became duller, the mantelope at the end not singing - a chilling, heartbreaking ending and the loss of intelligence of the mantelope slowly over evolution.

Your animations are incredible. Anyone in film knows how rare it is to be as multi-talented as Woźniakowski. This also encapsulates such a niche feeling that I feel like there's nowhere I can turn to share this with anyone else. After watching something so profound, it made me feel lonely not to be able to tell anyone. My only solace was this KZbin comment.

I must say, this is by far the most beautiful animation you’ve done. The pure beauty of their song, how you just perfectly captured the sadness of the Mantelopes. The scene where one is looking into the sky and zooms in on the eye as it flashes back to a past human, I legitimately cried. I felt that pure hopelessness and sorrow that mankind was subjugated, twisted and will never return to what it once was.
