Tbf this is indeed a case of UK and American pronunciations. Ellis pulled an Alex. Forgive him, he is sometimes linguistically adamant. I personally also agree with Gabby's argument. She is seeing it from a RP perspective for the game and her argument actually made them shut up before a rebuttal because you would try as much as possible to adhere to the phonetics of a language you are learning. Seems Ellis is viewing more from "I'm just playing the game" so him saying it his way is just how it will be because it's just the differing accents to him and not being immersed.

Lassoo in America is pronounced Las-so. So if you are playing a game that is set in America and you are RPing I would say Las-so. But in Ellis's case he is just saying in his native tongue Las-su.
