@Bookstawa We use geometric mean as it applies only for positive values and the prices will never decrease and hence they dont go negative...on the contrary, arithematic mean can be used for both positive and negative values😊

In Arithmetic mean the observations are substitutable i.e one very small observation can be overshadowed by a very large observation. Whereas in Geometric mean the variables are non substitutable i.e each variable is independently reflected in the mean. Hence we use Geometric mean because it is a better representative of the given dataset.
