Update 2024 - since filming this video, Namehero have unfortunately nearly doubled their prices. I've moved my sites over to Chemicloud, which I highly recommend - you can see why in my latest tutorial: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqukk5KLqdV2rrs (hosting part is at minute 4:53) You can check out their offer here: wpmkr.com/chemicloud Namehero is still a decent option, but Chemicloud is much better value for money. Chemicloud is super fast (same Litespeed technology as Namehero), it allocates your website more resources, and has amazing customer support. The decision is yours, just wanted to give you a heads up about the changes since filming this video :) thank you so much for watching, and best of luck with your site!

Can you please help and tell me how to connect with CloudFare if you have a different domain and different hosting?: My domain name is on Namecheap and my hosting is on Hostinger so how can I connect to Cloudfare without changing DNS Nameservers because if I will change it in Namecheap Domain then my Hostinger Hosting will get disconnected right? So can you please provide a solution to this as I really want to do this setup for my website please and Hostinger is also a Hosting with Litespeed cache plugin so I just have to figure out how to connect to Cloudfare without changing Nameservers and then I would be able to have this setup and speed for my website. So, can you please tell me how I can do this setup please 🙏.
@wpmaker10 ай бұрын
You can follow the same steps as me in the video. The only part that's different is changing your Nameservers (I show how I change mine on Namehero, but you'll have to change yours on Namecheap). Look up "how to change nameservers on namecheap" and you'll see where to do it. The rest of the steps are the same. Make sure you follow closely what I'm doing, as changing your nameservers can take up to 48 hours so you'll have to wait for that to finish before you proceed with the rest of the steps. If you follow the same steps as me, your site won't be disconnected from Hostinger. It will stay connected to Hostinger, but through Cloudflare's nameservers. If you're unsure how to do this, make sure to take backups of your old nameservers in case you make a mistake and you need to revert back to your previous settings. If you're really unsure, I also recommend having someone else help you with it that has changed nameservers before. It can be stressful if something goes wrong - but you have all of the correct steps inside this video. Good luck!

Your video is fire! Thank you so much, it made my blog super fast. A couple of questions though. If I connect to quic cdn as you show on the video will it optimize images regardless cause I’m already using ewww plugin for webp so I don’t need quic cdn to do that. Also, is the cdn for free for page caching or is there a monthly quota? It wasn’t clear on your video
@wpmaker Жыл бұрын
Hey Alex, thanks for the comment! Inside the QUIC CDN settings (or inside the Litespeed plugin settings) you can disable the image optimization. I recommend only using one plugin for this, so you can either disable it on the ewww side, or disable it on the Litespeed / QUIC side. There is a monthly quota for the Premium CDN plan. If you hit it, you will still have QUIC CDN for free, but it will get slightly slower (you'll be automatically moved to the free plan). You can check the exact numbers and how much of your quota you're using, inside your account on QUIC's website. Hope this helps, good luck!

Hey Matt, sorry to hear that. Done! the site feels like its loading faster lol i'm not sure. The google page speed and gtmetrix figures haven't changed yet. I will update once he image optimization completes. I have over 5k image on the site *Update* The optimizations do work. Desktop speed of around 91 on google page speed from 40 and 37 for mobile from 13. I did play around with a few other settings on lightspeed - minify css and js aswell as a few others and installed freesoul plugin that allows you to disable plugins on different pages that are not being used. Im on Namehero plus cloud hosting and i think once i upgrade to the business cloud package my site will be super super fast! Overal, great tutorial. Thanks it worked for me!
@wpmaker2 жыл бұрын
Wow, that's a bunch of images! :) Note that you should still size your images properly (height & width) to keep them small in size. Under 400-500 kB is a good rule of thumb, ideally as small as possible. And make sure you don't have any badly coded plugins that slow your website down. You can also make sure that your configuration works correctly like at 13:18 in the video. Once you confirm that it works, for GTMetrix you should do 3 tests and use an average of the results. You can also use speedvitals.com/ttfb-test which is a great tool to test your site's speed from all over the world (under 200ms result is super good). Same thing, do 3 tests and take an average. This is because the first "visit" (or test) doesn't really count - that visit is used by your server to create the cache for the page. Subsequent visits will be much faster (for all visitors in that specific region of the world). I assume you're running an eCommerce site? What host are you using? Let us know how it goes! :)

Hello! Awesome video! I´m starting in this world and I got a question, is this tutorial an alternative to plugins such as Smush (compress, image optimizer, lazy load...)? Is it perfectly compatible? Thanks very much. Greetings from Spain!!
@wpmaker Жыл бұрын
I've somehow missed your comment, apologies. In general, it's best practice to not use 2 plugins that do the same thing (2 plugins that do caching, 2 plugins that do image compression, etc). If you do use 2 such plugins, you can disable the same functionality in the other (for example, you can use 2 plugins that have caching and image compression, but go into the settings and disable caching in one and image optimizations in the other). LiteSpeed does pretty much all of the things you need, so you're unlikely to need another plugin. It does caching, image optimization, CDN and more. And lazyload is now native to WordPress, so you don't even need a plugin for that. In short, you should be good to go with just this tutorial. Don't add other optimization plugins on top unless you know exactly what you're doing and why. I hope this helps!

Without looking at your setup directly I can't really be sure why Cloudflare breaks this connection when you move your domain to it. Perhaps there is a DNS record that you have on your old DNS host, but that is missing inside Cloudflare? I would cross-check those. I'm not sure what plugin / method you're using for this connection, and I don't use Hostinger myself either. www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-connect-microsoft-outlook-to-wordpress/ Maybe this can help too. I hope you find the fix, I'm sorry that I can't help more. I'd also try getting in touch with Hostinger and explaining this to their support - they might be able to help since it sounds like they made the recommendation. Good luck!
@wpmaker2 жыл бұрын
Hey again Philippe, I might've figured out your problem. Check this out: quic.cloud/docs/troubleshooting/domain-email-no-longer-working/ So you will need to go to your Cloudflare DNS configuration. Edit your current MX record from there (the one with the name yourdomain.com), and point it to mail.yoursite.com - save this. Then if you have any other records with the name "mail", delete them (you probably have a CNAME record with this). Now create a new A record, for Name type in "mail", and for IPv4 put in the IP address of your hosting, and also disable the Cloudflare cloud (click it so that it turns gray, not orange). Save it. Wait for 30-60 minutes, and try your SMTP configuration / Outlook connection again. I think this should fix it, I hope it helps! Good luck!

Does this mean I'm using some shared cloudflare hosting now?
@wpmaker Жыл бұрын
No, you'll still be using your original hosting. Cloudflare just sits in the middle to manage your domain name, provide an additional layer of security, and speed up the route to your hosting (making your website load faster). Cloudflare is an industry standard nowadays, you can look up things like what cloudflare does if you want to get deeper into the technicals. PS: I play league too, glhf!

@@wpmaker I get it now but anyway can’t manage guest mode. Always buggy and can’t get below 5 seconds loading time :( PS. I’m out of it, best decision of my life 😂
@wpmaker Жыл бұрын
@@cakuaa Like I said Cloudflare is the industry standard right now, their network is used by the biggest companies in the world. The problem is unlikely to be with them, and they're definitely not buggy. The 5 seconds loading time could be for a million other reasons (slow and poorly coded plugins or theme, your web host, etc). I don't think you're looking for the problem in the right place :) I'm not sponsored by Cloudflare, just trying to help out with finding the real issue with your site. PS: I see you mentioned "Guest Mode", that's a Litespeed setting that I recommended not to use in this video. It has nothing to do with Cloudflare. Either way, good luck!

This is a problem with your MX records. Make sure you add your previous e-mail related records (that you had on your previous DNS host before Cloudflare), and make sure to port them over to Cloudflare the same way you had them. You can Google "MX records" if you want to understand why they are important for e-mail. Hope this helps!

Hello. Thank you for making this video for us. Cloudflare gives me this error:An A, AAAA, or CNAME record with that host already exists. (Code: 81053). I looked at the documentation and I should delete all my A and AAA records. Is this it? How do I choose which records to delete? And what if I delete those records and my site stops working?
@wpmaker2 жыл бұрын
Hey Christina, you don't need to delete all A records, just the one you're trying to replace (the yoursite.com main one). Then it will allow you to add the CNAME replacement for it (like I do in the video). To be 100% safe you can just back-up your current record in a text file before deleting it (just take a note of its name and target IP address). Then if anything goes wrong, you can simply add it back just like it was before :) other than that I recommend following everything I'm doing exactly like in the video, and it will work. Note how I deleted the A record before adding the CNAME one, which is why I didn't get the error you're getting. Hope this helps, good luck!

Great stuff. Why are you adding Cloudflare on top of QuickCDN. Is that not slowing things down?
@wpmaker2 жыл бұрын
Not at all. We’re only using Cloudflare as a DNS manager (we disable their orange cloud CDN setting/option), mostly for its CNAME flattening capabilities. Because most web hosts’ DNS managers (cPanel) can’t do CNAME flattening thus can’t correctly connect to QUIC Cloud :)

Hi Peter, Thanks for this incredible video. In my case Memcached Extension and Redis Extension are disabled but in your case, it's the opposite. Does it matter? If yes then how can I make them enabled? Thanks in advance
@wpmaker2 жыл бұрын
They need to be supported by your web host to be enabled (I’m using Namehero here). You could get in touch with your host to see if they offer it. It matters a lot especially if you have a highly dynamic site (for example eCommerce). For simpler websites, not as much.

how to do it with Hostinger

I tried it worked for my main domain but it not working for my subdomain
@wpmaker Жыл бұрын
Hey Sabbir, it should work for sub-domains the same way it works for the main domain (especially steps #1 and #2). At #3, make sure you look through the settings on QUIC Cloud's end to ensure nothing is configured wrong. You didn't mention why it wouldn't work for your subdomain, so I'm not sure how to help you further. Good luck!

Can you do that for a full ecommerce website? With whatsapp buttons, moving parts, sliders, slide cart, etcc..
@wpmaker Жыл бұрын
Every plugin would need to be tested one by one, and optimized carefully. Badly coded plugins can ruin your speed, and unfortunately there's no one-size-fits-all solution for that. However, these optimizations should be good for every website - it's just that you should be careful which new plugins you add, and test your speed with and without them :)

Doesn't it make trouble, using 2 CDNs? (quic cdn and cloudflare cdn at once)??
@wpmaker2 жыл бұрын
We aren't using 2 CDNs, because the Cloudflare CDN functionality becomes disabled when we switch off the orange cloud option (at around 11:03 in the video). So we essentially disable all Cloudflare CDN functionality, and from then on we only use Cloudflare for its CNAME Flattening capabilities to correctly point over to QUIC. Then our only CDN remains QUIC.cloud, which is much faster and better integrated with all Litespeed hosts. I hope this makes sense! Good luck :)

@@wpmaker I don’t understand, then I shouldn’t creat a Cloudflare account since I won’t benefit from it right? Also could you make a video about the rest of cdn settings.. they’re confusing me
@wpmaker2 жыл бұрын
@@hannoo7858 You still need Cloudflare to be able to point your domain correctly to QUIC cloud. So you need the Cloudflare account. The full settings are not that easy to understand if you're not a programmer. If you want to study and understand how it all works, you can read the LiteSpeed Cache documentation (just Google it). But the default settings are great already so you don't need to worry about it - the plugin is meant to work best with out of the box settings. In this video we keep it super simple and we get very close to max performance already - so I would simply recommend following the video step by step. I hope this makes sense, good luck!

Hi there, awesome video! Just one question, should I move my webpage to a litespeedserver? Because I'm currently on a CentOS with apache server using whm. I have currently like 50 websites that work kinda ok with wp rocket, but when you log in it goes turtle mode, really slow backend... So should I make a new server with openlitespeedserver or just install the litespeed plugin and follow your tutorial? Regards

Hi. Ever since I changed the servernames to those of cloudflare, my wordpress cockpit is incredibly slow and the page loads about 20 seconds. Nevertheless, I have done all the steps to the end and the site on any other device or incognito launches extremely fast. The problem is that it interferes heavily with my wordpress cockpit and takes me a very long time to refresh the page. I cleared the browsing history and all cookies and the problem is still the same ;/. What can be done about it? Thank you for your reply!
@wpmaker Жыл бұрын
Hey, unfortunately this doesn't sound like it has anything to do with Cloudflare. The WordPress back-end is influenced by many plugins, so I would start my investigation by de-activating all of them and re-activating one by one while testing the speed each time to find the culprit. Cloudflare has the same effect on your whole website, so if your front-pages load fast (when you are not logged in), then it is impossible that Cloudflare is the direct culprit for only your Dashboard being slow (when logged in as an admin). I hope this helps you investigate, good luck!

What if my domain was not on namehero but godaddy? How would that work?
@wpmaker2 жыл бұрын
Hey Fabian, you would simply go into your Godaddy account (instead of Namehero) at the part where you need to change your nameservers (during Step 1). I mention it there during the video :) It will still work just as good, it doesn’t matter where you got your domain from. What does matter is your web host, which should be a Litespeed host (such as Namehero) for steps 2 and 3 to work and provide the massive speed boost. Step 1 will work regardless of your web host and will still provide a significant speed boost on its own. Hope this helps, good luck!

Hi, First of all Thank you for the tutorial and Good luck for your channel. I need some help with image exclusion format in 'page optimisation - media exclusion'. Could you please comment on the format of the url or code or ..... I mean examples of writing it. Any help will be appreciated, Thank you.
@wpmaker2 жыл бұрын
Hey, thank you! The format should be normal links to the images each one on a new line, such as: domain.com/image1.jpg domain.com/image2.jpg You could also write just the image name and this should also suffice: image1.jpg image2.jpg Both of these formats should work. Make sure you go to Toolbox and Purge All cache before testing if the changes work. Hope this helps, good luck! :)

I can't help much without knowing what changes you made to your domain or servers. If you closely follow the same exact steps as me in the tutorial, it should work without issues. If you've changed your nameservers recently (from something else to Cloudflare), make sure you've changed them correctly, and note that this change can take up to 48 hours to take effect.

If you deleted anything, you can just add it back and the changes or revert. No need to worry. It's hard to help you without knowing exactly what steps you've followed, you didn't tell me much (I don't know what error you're getting). If you follow the exact steps as in the video, it will work :)

Having a fast website improves the quality of your site and improves your chances to rank high in Google, but it doesn't guarantee it. Ultimately, it's up to having good content that people search for, click on, and are interested in reading. There is no simple or easy answer to your question. I would start by looking into SEO guides and articles on Google and KZbin. Start learning what SEO is and how it works, read about niche sites and choosing niches, etc. It should help answer your question :)

After setting up the CDN, when you inspect your website's network headers, server is showing as litespeed. You had switched to cloudflare, right? How come it is not showing cloudflare there?
@wpmaker2 жыл бұрын
Cloudflare has 2 "modes" in their DNS records, as seen at around 11:04 in the video. If you keep the "Proxied" option turned on (orange cloud icon), then you're using Cloudflare's CDN and the network headers would show Cloudflare as your server. But if you turn it off (gray cloud icon) like we do, then you're not using Cloudflare's CDN anymore - and your site's traffic simply gets passed on to QUIC Cloud. That is what we want, since we're using QUIC Cloud's CDN instead. It would actually make your website slower if we kept the Cloudflare CDN on top. I hope this makes sense! :)

My page doesn't work on incognito. Any ideea why?
@wpmaker10 ай бұрын
It could be your browser, or it could be your website. Does it work on another device (your phone, or a tablet, or another computer)? Does it work when not in incognito, but while you are not logged into your account? The only change when in Incognito vs. when you're not, should be that in Incognito you're not logged in as an admin. Perhaps you have a plugin that doesn't show your website to normal visitors if they're not logged in? Hard to troubleshoot it without more info. Apologies for the late reply, I was gone for a little while! I hope you've found the cause in the meantime, and if you did please let me know what it was :)

You need to make sure you don't have any existing A or CNAME records on your root domain inside Cloudflare, before adding the new CNAME from QUIC. Sorry for the late reply, hope you've managed to fix it in the meantime!
