I was 12 yrs old and lived in south Brevard county. We had a cat 3 there. Couldn’t imagine being in Miami

@@Julian-ns3itI think he meant that brevard county only experienced cat 3 force winds while Miami experienced cat 5 winds from Andrew

I remember it strengthened very rapidly and took a last minute wobble to the south they said it was gonna hit between the dade Broward line or downtown Miami but it shot south hiting the suburbs of southern Miami dade county the hardest although all of Miami dade and Broward where all hit hard but to a less extent as the southern half of Miami dade.

My first hurricane I was luckily in WPB. but went to Miami after, I had more respect for them after what I saw

That path is absolutely absurd. Miami area had to feel completely safe before it somehow held the due west track for a number of days
@ikannunaplays Жыл бұрын
That path is wrong because I live in Clearwater and the eye crossed right over us, I remember it vividly. It was like the howling wind and rain stopped to dead silence, I walked outside and looked around at the damage, it was sunny and cool the smell of earth, moments later darkness crept in and the howling resumed as I ran back inside. This was my second year living in Florida.

@@ikannunaplays it went due west over Marco island area…that’s what is shown on the historical track
@ikannunaplays Жыл бұрын
@@trentbateman I see the track, but it's not accurate. I lived it. There were no other cat 5 hurricanes between 1990 and 2000 than came to Florida, the weather data back then also wasn't that accurate as they said they didn't even know it was a cat 5 until after. The data is off

@@ikannunaplaysthe eye wall was 50 mile diameter you right so from North Florida City to Clearwater we all got it really hard

I was in my mom’s stomach and born 2 months after. I just realized now.. how the hell was it a 4 when it hit us? It’s amazing it got that strong that quick. How terrifying.
