WQHT Hot 97 Friday Night Hot Mix mixed by Jeff Romanowski (Late 1989/90)

It was late 1989 & 1/12/90 with some rare early shows from the Hot 97 Friday Night mix...classic Freestyle, House and Dance music from the hottest dance station on the planet. Mixing from one style of music to another was difficult but I got creative with my own remixed tracks and breaks to make it sound good. I remember listening to this actual show on 92 Pro FM out of Providence. Back then I always had a blank cassette in the "boom box" at the ready. I loved this song so much and got so excited when this remix hit the airwaves. Thanks for posting!

OMG! Thanks for the tracks! I so miss Hot 97. It was the last good radio station in NY. WQHT was the end of great radio stations. The moment it went off air is the moment all life of radio stations came to a halt and everyone was stuck with the basic teen bop 40 songs of crap. I stopped listening to the radio the moment Hot 97 went off air. Thanks for bringing it back!

Curious about the equipment you used to make these mixes and roughly how much time was spent on an average mix? You put editing work into it and I can only imagine how time consuming it was.

I had a library of my own custom edits of most tracks plus ins & outs. I also had duplicates of everything and would transition back and fourth with dub parts.
