I love how both of the unintended deaths in the run only helped out; the RR death forced the additional entry that gave a roof spawn, and the TTC death just led to respawning closer to a star afterwards.

Dire Dire Docks being under the moat actually makes perfect sense when you think about it since you end up out there if you’re dragged into that black void via the current in that level, and of course the fact that it’s completely flooded

i think he wanted to navigate and grab the hardest star first and come back to get the easier ones, because if he just gets the three stars, then he'll have to navigate again to get the blue coin and 100 coin star
