[WR] Psychonauts Speedrun in

Clean run with all the new timesaves and good (enough) luck. Retired from this category for the foreseeable future.
My original run was blocked because I was listening to Pavement while doing it on KZbin, so here's the raw version with game feed only.

@@kaleenar963 I can't see that being the case. The way to get that elevator to come down is to get through Crispin... just doesn't make sense to me cus that entire object doesn't come down until you get past him.

@@chungusamongus519 saving and loading during a load can have weird effects on the given map, including changing some flags n triggers to change some properties. It’s also how I bypass the cobwebs at the end of the game

I might use this to get back to the asylum atleast. I only needed 1 more gold helmet for the platinum but turns out it was the one for the dog painting the bull so I gotta start the game over

It's LSD (Load-Save displacement) I don't know the specifics on how it works, but if you save in a loading zone and then reload that save the map changes some properties including having that elevator be active

Saving in loading zones and loading the file breaks the maps. By saving in the right spots and loading the game you flag events needed to progress.

There was some small mistakes in this run, maybe a minute less is possible.

As of right now it seems highly improbable that a sub 30 will be achieved any time soon, the community sum of best is a 29:4x or 5x I’m sure there’s some strats we don’t know of yet, so some day sub 30 will probably happen but at least currently it’s very unlikely.

A lot of skips are based on the save bug. By saving in loading zones and loading the file you often displace the map and trigger flags that should not be active.

The run is a combo of glitches. They bypassed a ton by knowing how to break the game. The simple answer is using tricks to bypass the webs. The longer answer is breaking down the tricks. I know the basics on what was used if you want a basic rundown.

it's called "Jag Skip", named after the founder Jagaimo. You shield the laser from the tank, reflect it into the mega-turret or whatever over by the blimp. When the turret dies it triggers a cutscene and spawns raz where he should be when that cutscene ends. There's a rare glitch where the tanks will fire randomly and hit the turret, possible to skip the entire level.

Why the VSync change?

i usually run the game at 144fps but the LSD (load save displacement) there to skip the Duster is frame perfect. By turning on V-Sync I force the game to 60fps and make the one frame considerably easier to hit.
