There's a reason I don't watch TV anymore. Not even the News. It is all bs Thus is real honest hard working people doing real stuff without the trying to pull the wool over our eyes. Cody has 13 years of video's. Go binge watch them and do Catchup. You'll soon fling your cable TV in the bin.

Thanks @Wranglerstar I have been building this workbench! I had never used a circular saw or table saw. Because of watching your videos, I was able to learn and get it done! The only difference is that I used clamps instead of the allthread. Thanks so much! I'm proud of what I was able to build using your videos as a guide.

My grandad used to say “bring it back the same way cause that’s the only one I have and I don’t have money to buy a new one or another one.” I’m so glad I listened to one of his many advices. I have 3 of his bench vises. They out lasted him but every time I use one I’m always thinking of him. I got one that I remember playing with since I was about 6-7 years old and I’m 35 now... Love the stories you tell of your grandad, hope you can enjoy this little one of mine. God bless!

Total agree with you if you borrow it it comes back better then new. If it has a motor and oil look black change it. Full tank of gas. And my rule is if I have to borrow it twice then maybe I should own that tool. If practical that is.

IN my trade i apply the same pholisophy. The tool goes back cleaned, oiled and ON the box, not in it so I am not rooting through their stuff. It's not your box, stay out of it. AND, if I borrow three times, I buy it. Because it also courteous to not have to go bakc a dozen times to keep using their tool. That's taking advantage of their generosity.

Love the videos no matter how long or short they are. Every time you mention "the guys on the East Coast" I have to smile. I was born on the East Coast, but I got to the West Coast as fast as I could. Two weeks!! I was raised in California up by the Oregon border. Then Uncle Sam took me to Texas, and I messed up and married a Texan so here I am. God has been good to me so I can't complain. I keep you and your family in my prayers. You hit the nail on the head when it comes to borrowing things from others, Cody! I’d also say that if you need to borrow a tool twice from someone, it’s time to purchase that tool for yourself. That’s how it was when I was a diesel mechanic and it’s always good to be more self reliant anyhow. Thanks for the great content.

Oh and those people nagging on you being to slow or making mistakes, just ignore them, i like when its taking you 5 videos to glue some 2×4s together. It not always about the work you do its also a big thing when you tell stories or really get down to details with stuff, it takes time and thats how it should be! There will always be haters and "i could do so much better" guys but its just empty words. None of them is sacrificing so much time and effort as you do making these videos! They have no clue how much working hours is spent to create what you do, so i say f*** them!

Say hey Wranglerstar. I cannot begin to thank you enough for such exsquisite detail you go through in making your projects so beautiful and detailed. You have given me a great deal of inspiration from this most recent project. I will attempt to make myself a workbench similar to yours. I have been blessed from one of my brothers whom is truley the most gifted with his hands and eyes. I have worked with him and learned how to use the great tools I have. Can't wait to get started. BTW, you hit it out the park by suggesting folks to clean up borrowed tools. I have loaned out a chainsaw and lawn tractor...costs me hundreds to fix or replace them. Stay Safe, Bee Well. Regards, Doug, N.Tx.

I remember when you built your woodworking bench, the EXACT same complaints were made. I remember making a comment then and it still applies today. To do it right, It takes several days to build something like this. If you want daily videos then you are only going to get to see what was done that day! Great job Wranglerstar! I wish i could do this style of video on my channel and show just what I do each day, but I struggle with my editing and usually end up doing a recap type video.

As someone who watches your videos to learn, I’m always pleased by your slow and steady-methodical is a good word-pace and approach to the work. This isn’t a lego set, and if you haven’t been through it a dozen times, building something like this beautiful bench is a task with steps that you wouldn’t know you didn’t know if you hadn’t seen them done well and at a pace where you can see each part of the work clearly.

I loved your advice about returning a borrowed tool in better condition than when you got it. My father taught me the same lesson. I remember a neighbor borrowed another neighbor's lawn mower that had a brand new blade and returned it with an empty tank after a long time after having ruined the blade. My dad taught me then the lesson and suggested it should have been returned with a sharpened blade and a full tank of fuel.

I was always taught and practiced the process of sealing all finished wood products on all sides to prevent warping. This prevents a variation of moisture levels on opposite sides of the board as it continues to breath and move. Even more advisable when building from softwood lumber. Your caution on the end-grain is a good one. Since your building an aireloom that may still be serving it's purpose a hundred years from now, sealing the underside of the bench would be good insurance.

I feel like we are hanging out during you’re video’s. Hi Cody, I whole heartedly agree with your philosophy about borrowing tools and returning them in better condition.

This is the Cody I love to watch, having fun in your own pace. I do not care what you are doing, as long you like it or think it is important your self. It shines trough you know. 🙂 I also like the way you are thinking off what tools we whom watch this have, it is brilliant. On the flip side. I do not know what it is, since I more or less stopped whatcing you regularly some time å go. But I sence more/deeper love and caring from within you now than before. Some kind of patience and enjoment that you did not have before. Best wishes, may God be good to you and your family.

I used a belt sander. Borrowed, took back in better condition, with all the unused belts I bought! I bunggied the vacuum hose to the sander, made everything much nicer. Great job!

I think this is so much more beautiful because they are just construction grade studs! I love it...I’m going to TRY to make one myself.

Personally, I love the pace you set with your videos. If I want a quick video tutorial, there are plenty out there to watch. I enoy the slower pace and explanations you present. Keep up the fantastic work, my brother!

I have learnt a lot from this series and now feel confident to build a similar table myself, so thank you. I don't have a belt sander, jointer or a planner. I have plunge router and a planning flt bit. I'm` going to build a sled for the router and try my unprofessional hand at leveling my table surface.

I love the look of the oil finish, I also like a nice vernish look ,taking a hard wood an scrubbing it until it compacts the wood fibers an leaves a high gloss shine . Same finish as a wood lathe with shaving in your hand while it's spinning. My grandfather always did that to all the handles of tools , use a sharp edge of oak too compress the fibers of the wood,he said it's like bonein a baseball bat . Then we used oak tanning we made to coat all wooden handles ,I still have a few gallons an still make it .

I appreciate the longer series of this. In a few weeks I'll finally have a location to start my wood shop. It's just for a hobby and occasional cutting boards and crafts that I'll sell but not a full on business. I'll be making one of my work benches just like this. Side note, I'm on the east! We are not all the same over here! Lol

I do like the 'Find the Loctite' addition. Way to keep it fresh Wranglestar. Way to keep it fun. Your pace is fine with my ADD as well.

As a New Englander, my suggestion to the I want it all at once crowd is to wait until the last video is up and binge the series.😉 Maybe Cody will throw you a bone and make a playlist for you😂 I've rented floor sanders to people that are building large tables. If you go that route, make sure to get something that has no flex or squish between the sandpaper backing plate and the paper. Love the vanity plate!
