I read East of Eden in August-it was a chunker but I’m glad I powered through. I also read a few lighter books too, but that was my main one. ❤❤❤

I haven't read much scifi/fantasy. Kindred by Octavia Butler sounds good, so I think I will try it. Do you have any recommendations?

I have not read any Octavia Bulter, but heard good things about Kindred as well that it has a lot of hard topics to deal with. As for recommendations I'd say start from your normal reading interests. If you like funny books, go for more light hearted stories, like Pratchett or Douglas Addams or newer John Scalzi. If you like mystery there are so many great mysteries in space settings. I would not recommend an epic series if you are just getting into the genres as that can feel to much. Novellas are a great way to dip your feet into a writer or genre.

I had forgotten that many years ago I read A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and loved it, so I'll read Kindred in the near future, then try Douglas Adams again. Thanks for triggering my memory!
