Yes hobby sprints!! They must happen in 2025! And I am right there with you trying to figure out this whole work life balance thing. I made major strides in 2024 with creating (and then upholding) professional boundaries but the thing about boundaries is that they constantly require energy to maintain 🤪 So the journey continues! I need to read that Darcy Coates duology. A lot of the recent ones I have read of hers have been duds lately when I know I love her stuff!!

Oooo...I have The Poison Thread staring at me from my tbr cart right now, so I may have to join the club in February. I enjoyed The Silent Companions and loved The House of Whispers. I haven't read The Shape of Darkness.

Happy New Year. I hope you find more balance in 2025. Looking forward to book club & hobby sprints. I fell off the bookclub & tbr reads last year- it was a tough time, though I did read plenty of mood-read books.

I'm totally down for hobby sprints. My theme for 2025 is "Slow down." I switched my Goodreads reading goal from 100 to 50 books this year. No pressure. I want to create time and space to embrace my other hobbies. Well, no surprise here . . . we share the same worst book of the year. However, I can't be totally mad about that book since it brought me to you and Jacki. Love you lots, and here's to a relaxing and balanced 2025!

@@literarylove123 I know we’re going to keep each other in check for relaxation. Too much pressure recently so I’m glad you’re doing a slow down too

Hi Lizzie, greetings again from Toronto. I hope you are well. Happy New Year! I spent most of the day keeping up with my booktube subscriptions and reading Ronald Malfi’s Small Town Horror. I’m glad you’re working on your home-time and relaxation. When you’re an old man like me you learn that life’s just too short. Balance is the key. I’m really looking forward to your movie channel; I’m sure it will be way cool. The Blair Witch Files sounds interesting, but my library doesn’t have any of them. Oh, well. I find that Darcy Coates is hit or miss with me. I liked Carrow Haunt and Haunting of Ashburn House, but I’ve DNF’d some of her others. And thanks for the read/don’t read list. Take care, and watch for further rambling comments!

As self publishing flourishes, books will continue to become worse on average. I'm sorry. It's just a fact. So called indie publishing only rewards those who can afford the best advertising, not those who are the best writers.
