Wrath is by far my favorite. There's no better feeling than having your cannoneers die and having to solo all 3 cannons. The rhythm of the first boss fight, needing clear comms for empowered statuses on challenge mode And on top of everything some of the best ornament armor sets and shader in the game

I had a hell of a hero moment years ago. We were on siege engine and damn spider tank had us pinned. We were slowly dropping like flies. We were down to 2 and only one part was put in. I had barely finished putting in one of the parts and was going to support my dood. Thing is the other part was right in front of the spider tank gatling. Oh he dead man he dead. So now I'm solo. I knew there was a high likelihood of us wiping. But I suck it up and grab the part. Then the moment of dread. I see the spidertank charging for a smash. I'm carrying the part towards the ramp. I only had like 7 seconds left and I needed to put this part on mid. I wasn't gonna make it. Then it happens. I barely managed to get onto the ramp. The tank smashes. He yeets me up the ramp. And I managed to put the part in time. My entire team was yelling and laughing. It was an incredible experience. Hands down one of my favorite combat moments

The zamboni guards the top of the wall surrounding the city. It was taken over by the splicers. Splicers also built a wall blocking your path. You have to break it to kill the driver and keep it from killing you. Then fix it so you can use it to break through the wall.

King's Fall is still my fav, but I forgot how much better D1 raids felt than D2 raids in general. Not sure why; they both have similar types of mechanics, but somehow D1 raids felt more immersive. Closest in that regard is probably Last Wish.

@@pluto3194 Could be. Aesthetics/visual design probably made the playing areas feel "deeper." Also, maybe the story/lore was more engaging? Or maybe I was just listening to a lot more Byf videos back then. Not claiming the D1 raids were objectively better, just that they "felt" better somehow. I will say that the amount of stuff to do on the dreadnought definitely helped, though. I still think that's the best destination Destiny's ever had (though I also really liked the D1 plaguelands, and the archon's forge was a blast). Not really raid-related, except that maybe the destinations in general somehow felt more interesting/engaging/immersive. Maybe it's all just nostalgia.

@@yeshua-on-wings I get what you mean tbh. I find most D1 locations to be far more interesting than D2 locations. A lot of them were a lot bigger as well. Look at D1 Mars vs D2 Mars, there's a clear winner there. Though in terms of actual raid zones I feel like D1 raids have you going through big areas that look like they just go on forever, like this is just one place of many others here. VoG, while not the best raid imo nailed this feeling. You can just look off in the distance in most encounters in the vault and the whole thing just feels huge. Not to say that D2 doesn't have this, I just think D1 did it better.

@@pluto3194 Though now that I think of it, I think D1 used a darker color palette in general. I know that's a simple thing, but it probably has a noticable impact on how I perceive the destinations. Maybe that's why the stories/destinations felt more engaging; it felt like there was a real threat. Without that slight sense of mystery/menace, it feels less real -- less meaningful.

We went into this raid two and a half years after age of triumph. I had been playing d1 for a while again, but no raids. The others had not even logged in once since d2 had come out. We started the raid, no plan, just did everything on the fly and in the end, we finished after about 45 minutes. Fastest wotm run i ever did. Not when we were doing this weekly in our prime with close friends, but with a random team of degenerates who hadnt touched the game in years... like... wtf how!?

Xur is in the Tower. Features weapon: Two-Tailed Fox; rocket launcher got a buff recently, fun to use in low-level PvE content but not much else. Hunter armor; Stomp-EE5 faster movement speed is KING in PvP meta right now; 18 Mobility and 14 intellect is good but 2 recovery and discipline? With a total of 59? No thanks Titan Armor: Severance Enclosure. Fun and clear ad very well in PvE when paired with mid/tree sunbreaker throwing hammer and Warmind cell build. 12 recovery and 21 intellect? Damn. Pick this up right now. Warlock armor; Chromatic Fire. Giving your kinetic weapon a dragonfly perk is awesome but there are better armors for Warlock out there, 8 intellect? Yeah I’m not picking this up Like always, picked up what you don’t have or better roll than what you got. Like comment sub peeeeeace.

If you get the chance, Fallout, have someone who still plays D1 do a wrath with you and show you all the new tech. The raid has changed *dramatically* since D2 released, and I think you’d enjoy seeing just how the community has torn this raid apart. 2016 strats in 2021, though. No part glitch, no doubles, no cannon glitch, no melting point, no song, no thermites, no breaching, no shotguns, no clusters ... it’s like something out of a dream, lol.

Weird, I saw "Best D1 Raid" but this wasn't about Kings Fall. It was about a raid that was way too easy and way too short. I'm trash and I two manned every encounter except Seige - because my buddy and I didn't try. Now, this probably was the most FUN raid in D1. But just too short, too repetitive and too easy for it to be my best. Really hoping all D1 raids come into D2 at some point. Vault looks amazing in the new D2 next gen era. KF and WotM would look equally as amazing.
