The screamer was supposed to be in l4d1 but they removed him and they give his power(?) To the boomer when he pukes to the survivors. He did appear in l4d1 beta or demo

8:00 That zombie is called Screamer. It's actually an official special infected from Valve and it was going to be the one who alerts the horde, instead of the Boomer, but with screams. When he finds you he would run away from you, while he still screaming and then you have to find him and killed him, to stop him alerting the horde. The Boomer originally he was going to make you damage, when you shoot him very closely. However Valve removed the special infected of Screamer, because they thought that he was going to be a very broken and unbalance special infected, and his special ability was gave to the Boomer, with his vomit.

The zombie in the Straight Jacket is called The Screamer. He’s a cut special infected, whenever you would’ve encountered or shot him he would start running away until he found a safe spot and yelled out bloodcurdling scream that would alert the horde. He was cut because he was too damn fast to catch up with and took too many bullets to kill it, making the gameplay a lot more difficult.

It wasn't because it was too damn fast, that's something that could have been easy to fix. It's the fact with all the other special infected and common infected already swarming you, it would be hard as fuck to figure out where they're hiding before he's already screaming.

yes, it is a zombie that was never used. it's name is the screamer (no pun intended), and it's perpose is to be a totem of zombies summoning, where tons of zombie hordes follow his screams, ready to pound on the survivors. he was cut because he was the hardest zombie to defeat, as he was in the middle of zombies that look similer to him, plus his increased heath, annd non-stop waves of zombies. I learned about him in deviantart from a comody comics maker.

Yes. That is the actual line but end up cut from the game. But thankfully valve announced an update to bring the voicelines so those cut voiceline would sound very realistic. It's available on PC but xbox 360 is not

Instead it changed to Boomer I remember like that They thought he was op since he doesn't need to stay close to the players like boomer pukes or explodes and he had higher HP then a boomer makes it harder to kill especially when horse is on your face while shaking your screen when you're trying to shoot the screamer that's running away to charge his scream again to cause lot of trouble once again
