LUDO Jo ludo...the traxxas forums are best for those questions. The lcg is fine for offroading. Gearing is cheap way of playing with speed and acceleration. Lipo choice, most will be fine even cheapie - but aim for a minimum 30c 5000mah. Later upgrade with Bigger tires, mip shafts, 4s capable esc. Motor will last even up to 4s -for a while;).

To help prevent parachuting I'm going to convert my Traxxas rally VXL into a backslash. I'm using a pro line predator body designed for the RC8b3e. They just discontinued it so I'm going to order one before it goes out of stock everywhere! You will need the Traxxas 2wd stampede battery post for the rear body mount, it just screws right in to the hole that holds down the gear cover, and for the front you will need a battery post from the 2wd stampede battery expansion kit. As for the wing get a HPI wing mount and a yeah racing wing. And lastly get some 1/8 buggy wheels and tires if you want to. That's what I'm doing!

I used to keep all the scrap pieces of lexan around to use as "patches" for the body. I'd use crazy glue and clamp a "patch" to the shell after cutting it to shape. It would usually last for the rest of the bodies life until it was too messed up to repair haha.

Kevin im telling you that you need to get a tekno rc basher. If you like the slash then get the sct410.3 and if you want a 8th scale buggy get a eb48.4 if you want a 8th scale monster truck get the mt410. Tekno quality and durability and performance is second to none. Get one you won't be disappointed

My MIP shafts held up fine so far! And I'm running the 2.8 trenchers.. However I'm also running 2s lipo's with low gearing. And I don't bash as hard as this. I got a feeling when you bash this hard anything will break lol

Hey kev, I recommend that you get GPM racing stainless still drive shafts, they are incredibly strong and don't rust! They also cost about half as much as MIP ones.

So much for the new bash sack kev , it's a good job more than 50% of the time you land the slash on its wheels or I'd be convinced it was just another female driver hahaha :). And out of interest if you drilled a couple of say 10mm holes in the bonnet / windscreen area and added I donno at a bad guess 100g weight to the front axle area do you think it would still parachute??? See, you started off well. Its like you said kev, its your hobby and you get to play however you wanna play but there isnt a material in the entire periodic table thats going to stand up to that. I have the traxxas steel shafts on the rear of my slash but i also run flm aluminium a arms so i dont have any flex adding stress on the shafts, rpm arms in my opinion have way too much flex. I wouldnt suggest you run aluminium arms due to the way you like to drive, id say your better off sticking to the stock plastic shafts though, gotta be cheaper and last longer than the mip.

Not bad for all the abuse . I had a ecx ruckus that did good but had to replace the driveshaft pieces literally every time I used it . In the end I probably payed more money in that piece then I did in the whole truck

You know wheels are specially designed to make contact with the ground?...round and spongy...the roof is hard, so maybe avoid using that from time to time, especially for landings. Please get Bigger tires for mid air control next bro. Or maybe go the other way - put a parachute on it - or wings! (is Mip broken or just fallen off due to other parts flex- show)

Put a thicker pin in there mine have never broken before but according to some people you can use hardened steel pins in there from Traxxas but no matter how strong you make this car something will brake it’s better to make a check and replaceable part your weakness link in the system

I think that the grub screw that's in the axle might have come loose, since the whole part was gone. I run a Slash 4x4 with those MIP axles, and the first breakage I've ever had is a part of the stub axle after almost *four years*! The screws have come loose before, though, and that sends the pin out. You can guess where it goes from there! That's my guess on what's happened, but ya' might have been unlucky. Hard to know with varying parts, eh?
