@@Matterhorny reruns on tv and a random video is 2 totally diferent genres. On 1 hand. U have a major corporation thats backing a rerun. In order to have a rerun it usually has to do good from the initial start. If it doesnt then it would be canceled and u wouldnt have reruns. With a video. Its just different. Its like boom. Look at this video from 10 yrs ago. Nothing to do with the current climate or world events. I still find it interesting and thought it was a dope video.

Every job I have ever worked we cleaned up everyday. At the end of projects we would pick all the trash up. I have worked at metal plants, outside environmental engineering, landscaping, carpenters assistant, EMT, even the fire station is anal about picking up the trash they bought. All jobs that lasted more than a day we would put our tools away and pick up anything daily. Not sure where your from, but here in Texas we Always pick up daily.

Being an old helo pilot myself, flying any type of 'external load' requires a very special skillset. I've done it, and done it well. But that was simply transporting netted cargo from one place to another over the tree line. Manipulating an almost two ton steel ball (repeatedly) against a fixed object is another level entirely, especially in a ship that size (Super Puma). If you look at 1:26 thru 1:29, that three second clip will show the pilot performing a 'rocking-horse' maneuver from a fixed position rather than actually flying forward and backward. And contrary to popular belief (TV and movies) when a pilot is in a hover, they do not stay in one exact spot, they shift around a bit (L-R/F-B) especially in OGE hover because of dramatically increased wingtip (blade) vortices.

@@mikepayne4387 LOL, I wouldn't be surprised. I flew Hueys in Vietnam and I never got really comfortable carrying a heavy sling load. I doubt they'd want explosives going off, end up starting a massive forest fire.

I wonder how they know that this one particular spot is unstable. It looked quite stable until hit by the wrecking ball.

0:59 You can see the the rock was protruding out, with no support underneath and clearly had cracks/crevices all around it and only the bottom of it was connected to anything, which you can see better at 1:37.

That's pure piloting skills from the pilot. If only the last shot would've been a bit down on the unstable rock, would it have rammed onto the ball & with it unsettling the helicopter in itself.. Watch it closely..
@firesurfer
@firesurfer 4 жыл бұрын
Maybe someone could make a custom-built automatic jackhammer into the ball, so that it wouldn't have to be swung, which is unpredictable and dangerous for the pilot. Just let it touch the rock and have it start by itself.
@bobthebuilder1360

The jackhammer wouldn't do shit because no force is being applied pushing it against rock
@VogonPoet67
@VogonPoet67 3 жыл бұрын
@@bobthebuilder1360 You just have to have another helicopter hovering next to the suspended jackhammer and have a guy open the door and apply force to the back of it with a long stick. Better yet, instead of a wrecking ball or jackhammer, suspend the second helicopter by its tail, tie a worker with a hammer to each rotor blade, and as the blades spin, each of the workers could chip away at the rock. I would say just let the rotor blades act as a saw, but that would be kinda stupid.

That's what 40 mm rockets are for. The APKWS is an add on for the 40mm guided version of the 50mm rockets. One rocket in a rocket pod and a laser designator on the helicopter will allow the pilot to hit the target with the rocket.

The bureaucracy to allow the usage of firearms in this situation would make it simply too time consuming and in the end more expensive
