I stacked at fod a couple of months ago, messed my shoulder and leg up, been out once on a gentle stroll, but still a bit daunting to think about anything more than that. Heading to wyre, hopefully nye. It may pass that you don't try to conquer that trail again, and that is OK! You're out and riding, and that's the main thing. Onto the next hurdle...Ryan as ever, thanks for your efforts and all the riders on the videos, ever since stumbling across the channel, it's given me more and more incentive to ride and try new things. Happy Xmas and trouble free new year. 🍾

Great edit Ryan, it really conveyed the tension and apprehension of Smithy forcing his body to go where his brain was telling him not to. A bit of sessioning on something not quite as steep/technical will do wonders for his confidence. One for Adam at Skillsloop.

Sick video lads and well done smithy I know how hard it is to over come your demons specially on the wrekin I had a bad day on southern monkey a couple of years ago went over the bars 3 times on the same ride so I stayed away from that trail for best part of a year then one night at it was dropping dark my confidence felt good and me and my mate dec just went full send and smashed it Try not to think about what happened or what could happen just concentrate on the job in hand and just have fun bro P S get that seat down more

My heart goes out to Smithy. At this time of year The Wrekin is unforgiving and the last place to be seeking redemption but hey ho, the boy has done good. Baby steps surely must be the order of the day. Remember you have nothing to prove to anyone, except yourself. Last time I was on the Wrekin my Maxxis DHF and Aggressors boots just gave up the ghost on the compact mud and ice. Can’t wait to see if my Magic Mary’s will cope any better.

Fab Ryan! It’s not until you watch yourself on camera do you realise how much of a bad rider you are, I feel massively embarrassed by this but at the same time hugely humbled by the people around me. Bring on 2023, I will complete that trail from top to bottom next year I promise. Thank you everyone for you kind words, the Wrekin has nearly stopped me from riding altogether but, kind words of encouragement has made me want to keep going 👍🏻

Would it not be good for Smithy to get a lesson from one of the instructors around the country or maybe Degla etc? I had a big crash some years back which really knocked my confidence and I didn't ride (properly) for 4 years or so. I decided I would get a private lesson to show me where I was going wrong but also to talk to someone who wasn't in my social group (someone who didn't know me) to get my head sorted!
