We're on the same boat! Grew up in an immigrant household, but we love rock, my brothers and I more than others, so it was mostly punk and classic rock, and metal. Now in our 20s, one of my brothers and I are going to concerts together, I got him a denim vest and we're hoping to customize our battle vests together with patches of bands we see this year!

You have a really good eye for customising a vest. Love the colour / patch / spike ratios. In England we use dental floss alot to sew our patches on haha. Also you should check out a drink called Buckfast.... the drink of gods! Thanks for the video

I used to use dental floss but it generally makes large holes and tears the fabric so I switched back to thread (or embroidery floss for a thicker look)

I’ve had problems with prong studs working their way out over time. Any suggestions on combatting that?
@CosmicKristen Жыл бұрын
The rivet back ones that I set with the mallet and tools stay in much better. If you have to use prong back studs they usually hold better in thick, non stretchy fabrics. Sometimes you can cut little pieces of felt or leather and use it as reinforcement but I’ve had the same problem with the prong ones on stretch denim

Please tell me how you you dyed your jacket that yellowish color?
@CosmicKristen4 ай бұрын
@@hunterdalrymple5011 as long as a jacket is a natural fiber like cotton, most denims, or rayon you can dye it using tie dyed and if you want a solid color just skip tying it up. Dharma trading co makes the best tie dyes, I have a tutorial on dying a denim vest on my channel too!
@CosmicKristen4 ай бұрын

@CosmicKristen3 жыл бұрын
I sometimes buy them at shows when I see bands. Other times I buy from websites that sell official patches (so bands get their money off the merch). Pull the plug patches, indie merch store, rockabillia, and angry young and poor are great places to find patches.

How can you tell if the rivet is fully seated? I’m running my studs in the seam around each sleeve and don’t want them falling out.
@CosmicKristen Жыл бұрын
If they’re the rivets with the post and cap (a back piece that looks like a nipple with the cap being the stud you see on top) it’s when the back of the post looks a little rounded on the edges but still flat (if that makes sense) and the cap has little to no wiggle on it. If it’s a prong back stud trying to get the prongs to lay as flat as possible is best. I’ve still found the prong back ones don’t stay in as well.
