The difference between Shawn v Bret and Punk v Elite is that both Shawn & Bret knew that the audience would eat it up if they brought their real-world rivalry into their work and proceeded to do so despite their genuine dislike of each other at that time. Whereas with Punk & the Elite, the two creepy youth pastors who think they're wrestlers pretty much refused any overtures to do that and probably cost their company a considerable chunk of change. Between that level of unprofessional pettiness and SEVEN consecutive matches that showed off just how limited their repertoire was, that was when any semblance of respect for the Bucks on any level went out the window.

I think that Brayn Danielson's tendency to draw his anticipated championship matches in aew is a good story telling. First draw with Kenny Omega for battling 20 minutes Then, Adam page for 60 minutes Finally, with mjf for 60 minutes but this time Tony Khan made clear there is gonna be a conclusion for Danielson.

the good thing about Raven and Tommy Dreamer's feud was how it brought in other people to the story, Beulah, Stevie Richards, etc etc.. and even continued after Raven left, came back, the company itself shut down, but the storyline still (slightly) continued. that story does not get the credit it deserves.

The Bloodline, like 1998s NWO, has long run its course. Like Hogan, Roman rarely has to defend his Title and when he does he always just barely wins after multiple run-ins, distractions and interferences. Time to move on.

the bloodline from Jey Uso being forced to join Roman, to Jey finally leaving the bloodline, and especially all the stuff with Sami Zayn, was the best... the Jey just moving to Raw (even though they can appear on both shows really) and Jimmy just rejoining the bloodline was pretty much crap... with Jey and Jimmy starting the Rumble together they could have at least got the story somewhat back on track, but no, for some reason nothing even happened there after the initial 10 minutes of the match. i am still waiting to see if Solo Sikoa turns on Reigns, but the recent parts of the storyline have been rather bland.

I have to go along with Dutch Mantell when he said the early 80s Dusty Rhodes vs Ole Anderson feud was the best heat-getting, long term story story. Dusty had feuded for a long time with Anderson and Ivan Koloff, (leading to Dusty's famous "This'll never be over!" promo). Months later, Ole came to Dusty's aid against the Assassins, seemingly turning face. This led to them teaming up a year later. Then came Ole's infamous heel turn in the steel cage, when he and Koloff and the Assassins gave Dusty a bloody beat down (Dusty did a stretcher job) and Ole explained this was his long term plan. This started a renewed feud between Ole and Dusty. Great long term booking. By
