Virgil was legit tough. And Janetty was originally to get the HBK push, and gimmick. When Marty heard about the push, he would dance around to Koko B. Wares theme. Koko overheard and went to Vince. Marty had to explain and apologise to Koke.

Same as Bruiser Brody, the crowds would duck and move, when Hansen got close. He swung his cowbell with force and he couldn't see two feet past his nose. It was on them to move or get messed up.

Out of all the wrestlers you could decide to shoot on, stiffing "Hacksaw" Jim Duggins seems especially unwise. Even as an older man, I could see him really, really kicking somebody's butt if he was upset.

These younger Twitter type of fans would hear that Taker/Bruiser story and go "Wow what a piece of shit for taking advantage of Taker" but that's the exact kind of shit wrestling is missing. It no longer has that element of rugged manliness anymore. It's so sterile and performative these days, you may as well watch a gymnastic routine. It had soul back in those days.

Honestly one of the most uninformed takes about wrestling I’ve heard. Have you ever wrestled? I have. Five years on the independent scene in the South. Didn’t do flippy stuff. Kept it old school and played a heel. And you know what’s the same regardless of whether you do flippy stuff or not? Bumps still hurt. Running the ropes sucks. Your neck and back are constantly sore. Landing the wrong way can lead to sleeping on your back bc you’ve f-ed up your shoulders. Concussions happen. Dislocations can happen. And now you, you little Jim Cornette acolyte, want to say wrestlers are soft bc they’re not getting stiffed in the ring? The only thing that does is shorten your career. There’s plenty of damage to go around without having some old-timer flex his ego to break me into the biz. Chop a dude’s chest? Sure. But turning this into shoot to get me to respect the business? What does that prove? I’m already breaking my body. I don’t need to prop up someone’s ego too.
@markabboud4855
@markabboud4855 6 ай бұрын
@ZaryasBestFriend So you're saying you're a failed wrestler. Sounds like you weren't good. Being taught respect and how to properly work a match, as Taker said, you need it.

Whereas my thoughts watching and listening to it, being 42, were exactly as Undertaker would eventually describe it himself in the video, as a lesson he needed to learn.
@ZaryasBestFriend
@ZaryasBestFriend 6 ай бұрын
@@markabboud4855 How is wrestling for five years a failed wrestler? I did it and can speak to the realities of how tough it is to be a pro wrestler. Look, I don’t have a problem with Taker saying what helped him. I have a problem with people saying that every wrestler is soft if they don’t get stiffed by an old vet when they first start out. That doesn’t help them become a better wrestler. The respect is shown by setting up/tearing down the ring, selling well, and keeping your opponent safe. Shooting on someone in a match doesn’t help younger wrestlers improve. That’s insane.
