TK has a problem. His target audience is the smart marks. The problem is that the smarks all think they know best and never agree on what "best" is, so he is constantly shifting directions to make the twitterverse happy. The best thing for AEW would be for TK to quit catering to the IWC, give up booking to four to six other people, and just be the money guy with some oversight. It will never happen but it is what is best for business.

I'm not gonna hold it against you about the going cold prediction, Micheal. As a lifelong fan since the 80's, (and admittedly, more like an unhappy, but hopeless addict with no other dealers sometimes) It's pretty hard to keep the faith in WWE. But, once they get the new formula down on Netflix, I think there's a good chance that this "boom period" could become a BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM period! Tbh, I've never been more excited to be a wrestling fan in my lifelong fandom! Here's hoping we ain't seen nothin yet!!!!!

9:55 So this is just IMO but I think one of the reasons AEW took off in 2019 is WE NEEDED A ALTERNATIVE. NJPW is so inacessble for us NA wrestling fans and to some isnt what they want anyways is that we needed something else. However once "Papa H" kicked the old geezer into retirement WWE got good again and therefore got rid of the need for an alternative. I know im going to get called a mark for saying that but I feel like its true.

What's good about wwe? The story telling is so long and boring, way too scripted. It doesn't feel real and matches never happen 3 hours of TV and you get 4 matches

@@betterthanumjf That's certainly one way to say you haven't been watching the product. The storytelling incrementally builds each week but still draws back to earlier events instead of immediately forgetting the history between competitors. This is compared to a promotion that has a small handful of stories, but regularly puts random matches together on cards with no history between competitors. I'm not really sure how it's any more scripted than AEW. There are regular improvised promos and people go off script. AEW is certainly more choreographed in the ring which makes the actual wrestling feel scripted. I don't know how you think it doesn't feel real because feuds like Punk vs McIntyre, KO vs Cody, MCMG vs DIY, the New Day and more start to feel like they're embracing kayfabe again and are channeling genuinely animosity for their opponents. You can just look back at the latest episode of Collision for multiple examples of things that are unquestionable. Ospreay does a flip after rebounding off the ropes for no reason despite Ricochet clearly being out of the ring safely. Ospreay reverses in to a stunner which Ricochet essentially no sells because he couldn't tell he was supposed to take a bump. The Adam Cole vs MJF promo just felt like traditional wrestling promo. Chris Jericho vs Costco Guys is definitely short, exciting story telling, not at all scripted, and feels real, huh? Also Raw is down to 2 hours, and typically has 5 matches which is.. the same as Collision.

@@David-bw7is It goes on and on but it isn't like it's the only focus. Both world titles don't revolve around it, they usually just get a promo per show and they're not even a match every episode. It's weird to stop watching entirely when it manages to fit in enough to remain relevant but not dominate the programming. It's just enough that if you do like it, it's there for you, but reserved enough that if you don't like it you can just use it as a bathroom match/segment.

Even if he did mean viewership numbers he mentioned WWE as a whole, and while you point out Raw's numbers have dropped, Smackdown's have held steady or risen since 2019 on average. It's a weird victim complex to think the reason why Raw viewership declined was because 1.5 million diehard fans just hate AEW so much that they forget to tune in every Monday. And in general, people who enjoy a product are going to regardless of how many other people are also enjoying it. You sarcastically drop the Papa H line but.. yeah it's a more engaging product for those who are invested.
